No doldrums here. Enjoying everything I can enjoy. Great ride this morning in wonderful temps and awesome surf session with my daughter this evening.
True, but over the past two summers, my lack of riding dirt was due to my increase in riding water. So no doldrums. 'Tis good to enjoy different sports IMO. Of course doing so means you don't progress very far in any of them. But you are making up for lost time this year.
Saturday and Sunday are opportunities to make the ho-hum trails we typically ride exciting for a day or two.Friday through Sunday looks to be unpleasant riding weather to me.
Only place to I would want to ride would be Big Bear, and hecks no I'm not going up there on a holiday weekend.

Love doing that too - whether on one plank or two!Colorado just got its first snow on the fourteens. Soon we can downhill frozen water
Great attitude, man.The Doldrums.....they hit sometimes and and they got me!! This year of 2020 sucks in many ways as everyone knows, the working from home, uncertainty of job, reduced socializing, the subconscious and not so subconscious effect of the current situation/s all take their effect on me and I'm sure many others.
But I want to put as much of a positive spin as I can. So what rocks? I've been getting out on the bike a lot during the week!! Along with the usual weekends, I'm out 1-3x on weekdays. I'm hitting a quick 1 hour dirt loop in the late afternoons on weekdays. With all the extra riding I was thinking I should of been in tip top seasonal shape by end of May. But this year May came and went, June came and went, July a little bit.....I'm thinking WTF? Why does it seem like I'm still struggling and not feeling as strong as usual. Why don't I feel like I should? Who knows, but I do know that I'm not a young man anymore and that could be a big part of it, along with all the other Sh!t in 2020.
So the Doldrums hits....so I thought what to do? Ah, I'll mix it up on the dark side and road biking to change it up. Mtb is my first love ( don't tell the wife I wrote this), and road is way after. But you know what? It worked, I've got the bug to go going on. And then this week FINALLY I feel the strength I should this time of year . Typical spin on the weekday dirt felt great, wasn't feeling the struggle and exhaustion that so permeated the summer.
Doldrum go F-yourself and let me have some fun, Mtb here I come!!!
Same! You, Ross and co are killing me with these Gabes rides...want to join, don't want to join...I agree with @Danimal - F@ck the doldrums. Mini epic Thursday is calling and I think it’s time the single speed got the call up.
Well done, my friend. Well done. The Doldrums.....they hit sometimes and and they got me!!
