Summer Solstice Blackstar

Well golly gosh darn, it's my wife's book club tomorrow night.... which puts me on kid duty. Sorry guys gotta mis this event:(

I am up for trying this next Tuesday to break my black star virgin status if anyone wants a repeat:)

A few of us climb it regularly! Throw out a time and you may get a taker... You'd probably have fun on the single tracks on the way down, instead of the road. I knew the first 4 starting from the golf ball, but J showed me two new ones the other day.

My work buddies ride booby trap and said I would like it. Maybe just not in the dark my first go:)

We did ride. We got a later start than the slow group and the middle group. My wife forgot to confirm the 6:00 start time, so we were waiting for a rider @ 6:30.

We finally got rolling. We had 7 in our group....6 SS's. Ray and my wife haven't been riding their SS's so they didn't make it all the way up. However she was killing it on the climb up to Hidden Ranch....then again she really didn't have an option.

Temps were warm to start. Cooled down nicely towards the top.

Just past the 2 cattle gate ran across a nice sized scorpion. From there up, my legs started bleeding out any energy they had(guess I should have scheduled having blood drawn more than 4 hrs before a ride).

Made it up to Beeks right at sunset. Perfect timing. Hung out and socialized for a bit before heading back down. Really nice temps on the way down, but humid back at the Tree Farm.

Good times.

Didn't drag the tandem out? Seems like a good ride for that.
