Stimulus checks

No stimulus check for our family and while I also don't agree with the way the $$ was divided up and doled out, our oversight is done at the voting booth. Unfortunately, many people continue to make the same decisions over and over and get the same results. It's why $350 million of that stimulus money is going to people who aren't even American citizens and another $25 million is going to the Kennedy Center for some reason.

If I was getting the $, it would probably go towards a new 29er frame. I'll still get one when we're able to ride whenever and wherever we choose to do so.

Want to know when you are getting your money?

Just so you know, the trillion dollar
stimulus is basically costing individual taxpayers about $18000 with us getting a $1200 loan of our own money while the rest goes to corporations, without oversight.

What kind of bike parts you getting?

That’s not quite accurate. 25% is allocated to go to big business, 30% to individuals through either the one time payment or through additional unemployment payments, 19% goes to small businesses to help keep the doors open and their employees paid, 17% to State and local governments to assist with the loss of tax dollars and 9% to public services, which is mostly healthcare. While I am not a fan of mortgaging our government like this, I do see some of this as necessary since our government decided to take this extreme position to fight the Corona Virus.

No stimulus checks coming our way so no bike parts purchases on the governments nickel for me.

Close enough for the internet. All the hard number crunchers are over in the Coronavirus thread.

Yeah
I haven't leaked any details yet...
All I can say so far is
A) it's not a unique bike to members of this forum
B) I'm still not in the cool kids club...

A.) Well, members of this forum have quite a few different brands - Santa Cruz, Guerilla Gravity, Ibis, Yeti, Trek, SpecialEd, Pivot, Intense, Niner, Giant, Proflex, Cannondale, DeVinci, Kona, Banshee, Transition, BH, and more - so that doesn't narrow it down much

B.) The cool kids club WAS the Santa Cruz Hightower, with a quick sub-cult of Guerilla Gravity - but rather suddenly - when it seemed quite clear that I would be joining that club with a shiny new 2020 Hightower, all the cool kids focused their attention on anti-squish bikes - hardtails, gravel grinders and the sub-species for the insane - single speeds. I will not be following suit. I will remain patently un-cool.

So I am guessing you are getting a full squish that's not SC, GG or Ibis.

I read A) as popular bike (model, not brand) here, likely a flavor of the month bike at one point.
I read B) as not the current flavor of the month bike.

My $ is on geared Chameleon. Double or nothing says carbon 29er.

Interpretation... It's funny to see how everyone takes the info.
Ok
To clarify

A) there is at least one other if the same model here.

B) was more in reference to brand. Definitely not a gravel bike. Let's just say something more trail worthy than my Rockhopper...
