SOLD! 2017 Niner RLT 9_Steel Gravel Bike

Hmmmmmm...::I can see it now:

FS: SC Hightower, Ibis Ripley, Pivot Les
Don’t ride them anymore..::have moved onto gravel grinding.
Hey whoa easy now let's not get all crazy:stop:. The add might read...
FS: One lightly used gravel bike, never mind all the scratches and bent tubes. Owner and his twiggy legs can't pedal it up the f'ing hills and he keeps falling off on the way down. Remember the Yeti?
Besides my wife has already been instructed that if I kick the bucket to dig a big enough hole to fit me & the Hightower & Ripley in.:Roflmao

Strada Rossa? :whistling:

Picked it up this morning. This bike could've easily passed as brand new, not a mark or a speck of dust on it anywhere. Thanks for the honest advertising and incredible hookup @DangerDirtyD and your retired cop friend... This will be a learning experience for sure. Crash confession to most likely follow soon.

Took navigator Nick with me and all he could do was laugh and make fun of my new bike.

Little does he know that next time we drive down to LaVerne he's got babysitting duty while DDD and I go ride our bikes and hit the local watering hole afterwards.:Roflmao

Welcome to the Huffy family! ;)

I can't stop looking at this and now @Sidewalk tells me it'd be a great bike to run to Walgreens for a twelver:confused:. I'm a mountain biker and prefer 780mm wide bars and have exactly 0.0 seconds of drop bar bike experience. Still there's a reason I keep looking(other than it'd probably be a good odd day commuter). For the last couple years I've had this idea. You see aside from my best pal @Mikie my father in law John Cavey is my other best friend. He lives up in Canada and own's the local pizza parlor/watering hole. I've been wanting to saddle up from the house and ride up the old ridge route to the 138 to Gorman Post Road to Frazier Mountain park road in to town just to surprise him and and have a beer or six. Should be 55 or 60ish miles and 6 or 7k one way. Have the option of staying the night or rolling home the next day. Only about a 4 mile stretch of the 138 makes me nervous. Seems like if that's the only ride I ever did on it it'd still be worth it. I'm really fighting the urge for some stupid reason. DDD I'll probably be calling you in the morning.

Hi Voodoo
Your post was interesting as we saw a show on "Huell Howser" talking about the Gorman Post Road. Is it open for biking? Also, we stop at Caveman Pizza every time we ride Golden Eagle and Mt Pinos. We talked to your father in law on numerous occasions. He seems to always be there when we go, so when is he actually in Canada? We have also been to the Frazier Park Fiesta Days, so fun! How is your mother in law? He said she was sick? We love Caveman Pizza.

Wow how awesome is that. I believe you’re probably talking about the old ridge route road between Templin hwy and Sandberg near the Golden Eagle trail head? If so yes it is open to cycling traffic and closed to vehicles. Earlier this spring @Mikie & I rode from my house in Castaic up to the GE trailhead and back on our mountain bikes and really enjoyed it.

I was pretty much born an raised in Frazier and lived there till 2012. We always referred to fiesta days as “fiasco days”. Lived just about a half mile up the street from Cavey’s.

Very cool you’ve got to meet my inlaws. John Cavey is seriously one of the best guys this earth has to offer. I was great friends with his son John Jr (RIP) for years before I started dating and married his sister. Anna my mother in law is dealing with multiple ailments and doesn’t get out much but is honory and opinionated as ever. Maybe we’ll run in to each other up there one of these days.

Niner has a lower end flat bar RLT now. Shouldn't be too hard to convert if you decide to go that route.

Saw that & thought about it on my last ride but the top tube is crazy short at 21.5”. I think id be smacking my knees like crazy. I’ll try to get used to it the way it is first and probably try some cowchipper bars first, and a dropper...:Roflmao

I pinched this from my kid's bike, and it works great on a cross bike or any bike you don't use the dropper a lot on.
Cheap and easy, like my women: https://www.jensonusa.com/KS-Eten-Lever-Seatpost-272mm-410mm-Length-100mm-Travel

The Angeles National Forest required me to cover the potholes with rubber mats while heavy equipment traversed the Old Ridge Route during construction of the Plains All American Pipeline Line 63 Reroute Project. That’s when I visited @Mikie, and my name was Tim.

Hey Tim your rubber mats are still hanging in there. At first they made no sense but I think they are actually serving a purpose. This crazy Canadian guy I was riding with was talking about “borrowing” a couple for his giant draft horse.

Hah! It’s all beginning to come together!
What a small world it is to discover these bizarre rubber mats all over Ridge Route and to now discover it was at the hands of @DangerDirtyD !
