SoCalRider checking in for the first time...

Have you ever been to Pioneer Village? They have a great Yokut display there. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher and they learn about the Yokuts. The ranch is where the casino is right?

Hey there and hello again, @SoCalRider . Now I am afraid you have to leave. You see, we already have 14 Mikes! (I may be exaggerating).

J/K Glad you made it here. This is a friendly place filled with people who love... wait for it.... riding mt. bikes!

Ride a lot, write a lot, but don't hurt a lot - that's my job! (waving smiley)
14 Mikes???! :gag:

I can change my name to "Ozzy" if it helps? :geek:

Since I forget names, everyone here should be called Mike.

@Danmtchl, I have been to Pioneer Village and find it a wonderful place to travel back in time. The collected artifacts were deeded to the Rancheria in Lemoore and are being used for career day in local schools and training of the Tribal monitors. Pipeline projects are good projects when they get properly evaluated for environmental impacts. Everyone wins; everyone makes money; construction crews remain employed longer when I require them to dig with trowels rather than trackhoes. The project proponents pay a drop in the bucket for CEQA and NEPA analyses, and the 3rd graders benefit exponentially. Rogas went under not because of the cost of archaeology but because the alternative method of energy transport (i.e. Pipelines) is cheaper than railroad. You energy companies want to save money..? Raise the cost of energy! We've made a bad deal with the planet. A terrible deal with the planet. When I left my house today, I kept my refrigerator plugged in, and all I had to do to haul 3,000 pounds of pick up truck 70 mph up and over hillsides was feather a little pedal by my feet. Ah, but I know everything there is to know about all of that. Believe me! I'm going to fix it!

Sorry about the derail @SoCalRider.

My original user name here ,"SoCalRider", was too similar to at least one other member's so I have changed it to "SnakeCharmer".

What does my new user name stand for? Well, I am glad you asked. I am an admirer of reptiles, snakes included. Fair warning: If any of you ever ride with me and we encounter a snake, I will likely handle it AND I will expect you to at least touch it. So, if you are terrified of snakes, I can help you get over that fear, otherwise....

 Carry on...
