Other Hobbies, Who Does What?

Only hobbies I've been good enough at to never want to quit thus far has been masturbating and smoking pot. I dabbled in growing pot for a few years, but buying it is so much more convenient and consistent.

Dude! Your honesty is beautiful.

I love going to the weed store, aka the dispensary. Always fun to go in and talk about a few strains, maybe get a sample or a toke. So many products, flower, oil, extract, hash, kief, edibles, tinctures, coffee, energy drinks, tinctures and salves....and more coming every day.
I hope the legalization doesn't dilute the quality...

Now about that self flaggelation....

Duh,... I cant believe that I forgot to include road-tripping as a hobby of mine. Currently on one now! We left this morning from Yucca Valley and headed out to Amboy. Never neen there before. Amboy crater was really cool. Talked to a local for a spell and got a good history lesson from him about the area. We attempted to find a shale deposit out there to look for trilobite fossils but we couldnt find it.

Being a husband and a dad and keeping my job have been enough to fill my non bike hours for the last 18 years. As the time demands of fatherhood give way to more financial demands, It seems like time to go rediscover some old interests, and maybe pick up some things I’ve put off:

Sailing: my son & I took some classes at OCC, it’s a great way to spend a day on the water. I was able to sail when I was rehabbing my Achilles tear, so I think it has a future as the aches pile up. Now where do I put that boat?

Climbing: pretty much left it behind after getting married. I would lead 5.7 and follow 5.9, and really didn’t feel a need to progress farther outdoors beyond adding speed and confidence. There are a few boxes I wanted to tick, pretty modest ones like finishing Angels Fright (rapped off fearing the incoming clouds).

Snowboard: I bought a splitboard last season, and my wife got touring skis. Not that comfortable on out of bounds steeps yet though, so we picked up Mountain Collective passes for the upcoming season as motivation to get more laps in. Whatever the snowboard equivalent of 5.7 is, that’s all I’m looking for...just a quiet slide through the forest.

I need to think of something to do indoors with appendages in casts.

Does SUP count as a hobby? Mrs levity and I have a passion for paddling in addition to pedaling. It’s great when we can combine the two on trips (e.g., Tahoe and Moab/Canyonlands). Some pics:
