New Bike Day!

I picked one of these bad boys up today

Not really. I saw this on FB today .... it was apparently at The Luge flag this afternoon. :cautious::poop:
The poor loser couldn't even find a second person for the back seat.

Came home from trip to find a box in the garage. Having been reading text messages between my sisters and wife I had a sinking feeling I knew what it was. But I figured if I pretend it didn't exist....

Shortly thereafter it was mentioned that, as I thought, she bought an eBike. :gag::facepalm:, and it was requested I put it together. Ok I can do that, you know happy wife happy life and a that.......

I assembled something that sort of resembled bike. It has a battery, pedals, and about 12" tires. Once completed I hopped on it to see. Well...if ebike are anything like this they ARE DEFINITELY not bicycles. It's not fast, but once you start peddling it takes over and you couldn't pedal fast enough to keep up if you wanted to. But don't need to anyway, it has a throttle! 15 mph and 15 mile range.

It was kind of fun to ride, she likes it much more. Prefect for...hell I don't know what. But she's happy so I'm happy to.

Here you go, an electric Mini Bike for your visual pleasure!

If things go according to plan, I'll be starting a gang on very similar hogs in about 30 years.

Good info, thanks. Thats actually the reason I was taking pics in the first place.
Wasnt sure if it was too trivial to complain about. That, and the der. hanger was a bit nicked up.

Not cool. I’m sure Revel would like to make it right. You’ll have a spare hanger, saving you $28. Looks like clearcoat damage on the seat stay from the same cause. If so, double not cool. Looks like they use Kingdom Bike for shippers. That’s really aggravating and you deserve to be pissed. I would not let that slide, it takes a lot of impact/abrasion to leave those marks.

Was Revel the shipper? I got my frame from Fanatik, and they went non-responsive when questions about the stay protector came up. Revel was awesome.

Desecration of tandem ethos! Motors aside, tandems are meant for sharing. If you have a garage with room and a SO who likes bike fun, try one. Doesn't matter what kind. Beach cruiser, road bike or MTB. I know a couple of you guys will attest, ahem, Jason and David...

That thing looks super sketchy from a geometry perspective. 90° head angle? Don't go down hill!

FoSho........

Why bother putting a motor on it then making an oversized deathtrap for one.

Shaun and crew at Sonoran Cycles Yuma put my Ranger together. He has a Ranger of his own, built a few months ago, so no surprises.

Pike Ultimate 130mm
Fox Float DPS Factory 115mm
Derby 30i AM/DT Swiss 350
XT 11-sp and brakes
NextR crank/OneUp alum
PNW 170mm dropper/Loam lever
Volt ti saddle/NextR bar

A cheater XC bike if I've ever seen one. Honestly, though, I don't see a bike. I see a bunch of riding. :sneaky:

PS: @buggravy, we will.

PPS: For anyone trying to source a Ranger frame, those guys have an order coming with all sizes in Jul/Aug.

Nice! Tis a fine looking steed. Hopefully we can swap cheater XC bikes for a few turns before too long. In the meantime, enjoy!

Love that fancy green paint! Close to, if not, British Racing Green!

Good looking machine!

Hopefully I'll get to post here soon. I thought for sure I had figured out that nasty noise I've been dealing with for the past year or so was cable slap. Turns out I have a crack in my frame. It appears to be a stress crack as there's no damage anywhere near it. Vince at JRA has already started the warranty process. I know bikes and frames are scarce these days but I'm hoping to at least get it approved. I can wait for the frame.

Warranty for the front triangle has been approved with an ETA of July. Hopefully it's yellow as there's a little yellow on the rear triangle. Looking forward to having a quiet bike again.

Actually, the newer frames have internal guides for the cable housing so I guess I'll be happy with whatever I get. :)

That's awesome... I was wondering how they would treat you considering the age of the bike.

New to @JoeMac !

Joe will probably not post it up. He got it off Pink Bike.
Personally I think the seller was kinda a loser... Pulled some of the deal after bucks were passed. :devilish:
I wrenched his bike for him:
Bled the Brakes
Adjusted the Suspension
Leveled the Seat
Removed stupid stuff
Washed it
Lubed the Chain
Check sealant in the tires and pressurized for performance
Upon discovery of a WAYYY over torqued Steer Tube, I tweaked (not twerked) to get some smoooth steering...
Then I retorqued everything as I no longer trusted the previous mechanic...

Weighs in at like 24.5 lbs.... I now hate Joe! :gotnothing::p

Just seeing this, I need to check in more often....Thank you Mikie for going over the Spur! Feel better having a Pro look everything over. I just swapped out the metallic pads for resin also, way better and no more noise. Like it better each ride. I got it for $6800 (including shipping costs). I guess it was a fair deal, came with Roval SL Carbon wheels as well and RSC Code brakes. Got a few nicks on frame but otherwise in great condition and not much choice right now other than buying used. Just saw on Transition website they bumped the price for the X01 from $5999 to $6499 but of course you cant get one anywhere. I didn't want to drag my 10 year old Giant around Kokopelli again after riding a demo Ripley. They only issue I may have now is the rider, bike is ready!
