Mount Wilson Enduro Tour

Sigh...maybe not then. Another time.

If you do the 6am and 8am shuttles he originally mentioned, you'll be back long before 5 pm....also, not sure if that 6 am is a Darkside run but if it is, you'll be hard pressed (as in nearly I possible) to make it down for an 8am shuttle. I'm guessing he's doing (2) frontside shuttles.

If doing the Enduro tour, it might even be a tad later than 5 pm depending on the route you take down. The Enduro tour used to start at 8 am and we finished about 4 pm when taking the "shortest" way down. If you take Lowe to MM to Sunset, it will probably be 5:30 before you get back....but I could be wrong. It happened before back in 2015.

I would need to be able to get back to San Bernardino in time to shower and get dressed to go back out to dinner by 5...so I'd need to be off the mountain by 3. But, I'll go a different time. I have been planning a pedal up anyway, one of these days.

My free(ish) San Gabes Super Shuttle keeps the climbs to keep it real. Starting from 3 Points, we tend to get about 25 miles, 4000ft elev, 90%singletrack, and miles of smiles.

That's a sufferfest we need to put together. Start at South Fork, Jackson Lake stuff and finish with Manzanita.

It's only about 28 miles or so...
Heinous road climb from SF
Up to Boy Scout
Drop to Upper Jackson
Up to, then down Log Jammer
Down Leprechaun
Up the fireroad to Boy Scout
Fireroad bomber to Vincent gap
Sweet Manzanita goodness!

What's a little pain amongst friends?

Master Rossage available weekdays for your pleasure...

@Voodoo Tom has been talking about doing this for quite a while. I hope I can be in shape enough to join you! This would be a good run.

Side note:
VT also wants to include the transition from Manzanita to the East end of the Devils Punch Bowl upper Trail, go past Devils Chair and finish in the DPB parking lot!
Now THAT, is a ride!

, is the correct reaction!

May as well start at Devil's Punchbowl then. Sounds good to me!

Man I'm out riding my bike today (in WW of course) and you guys are planning a "Wrightwood bring sense of adventure day " that I've been talking about with @Mikie for a while now. After today I think we need to raise this up on the priorities list. While riding with @Tom the Bomb today I realized there's a whole bunch of killer Wrightwood goodness that he hasn't experienced. The smile on his face at the bottom of each descent will be worth whatever pain and suffering we gotta deal with in between.

My current version is something like this...
Stage at the visitors center and climb up to inspiration
Hang a left and climb up to Blue ridge
Drop Blue Ridge( this is fun chit TTB)
Drop a little bit of pavement to the Leprechaun trailhead
Drop Leppy like a bad habit
Climb out of Leppy to the lake and then continue up boyscout to the fire road.
Hang a left and climb to where SOT crosses(from here it's fuzzy but I hear you can work your way to Vincent gap)
Drop Manzanita to Southfork CG (this is really fun chit TTB)
Traverse from Southfork over to Devils chair(this is where things get fun and you will experience some of the best HAB of your life and a couple people might die)
Work our way over to the punchbowl parking lot (we can pitch a couple dead bodies over the side pretty much anywhere)

No idea on mileage(but I'd guess about 35ish) or elevation gain (but it'll be over 3K and under 10K). I can pretty much predict the folks who would be on board and we need probably 3-4 trucks. I'll wait however long it takes for Mikie to be healthy and firing on all cylinders cause he's the one who showed me the goods in the first place.

Thats a good one, so many ways to do it!

Too far to shuttle to Acorn on the FR. Better to ride to Acorn from Inspiration, drop Acorn and shuttle back up to Inspiration, drop SwordFight to Leppy , climb BS and then SOT to Manzanita.

Option2 - Ride from Inspiration to Blueridge, drop BR and climb thru the resort back to Inspiration, drop SwordFight to Leppy, climb BR and then SOT to Manzy.

#3 - Skip BR and do the rest of #2. Who's in for this weekend?
.

Count me in!! In spirit that is. I'd be all over this one!

Well the climb from South Fork to Boy Scout is about 2500’. Id put the Loop in the 6-7000’ range.

Hey, saw your post on FB. Was thinking of doing the 6 am single shuttle on saturday to Redbox down to Switzers and then doing Strawberry loop, ending on the Gab to JPL.
Looks like you guys may be doing that Sunday also.
I'm not familiar with Disappointment/Bill Reilly or getting over to the Chantry side. I've only dropped into Chantry, never past there.
I've dropped Ken Burton to JPL, but not done Switzers to KB.
I've done Strawberry loop before also.
I just dont want to bite off too much or hold you back.....
