I bet that last 500 feet was one helluva ride!

Years ago, up on the Crest just passed Newcombs, I came upon a crash where a guy rode his Ducati off the side of the mountain. He had shattered his ankle so I laid there next to him supporting most of his body for what seemed an eternity. He would occasionally scream as I had to adjust my body to keep it from falling asleep. I'm so glad I made it through those years pretty much unscathed. I've actually had the worst crashes and injuries on the MTB.

For a long time, those who have been in the industry remember that social advertising was a very popular subject for advertisers in 1990-2010: it was relatively easy to produce, place in outdoor ads or on TV, and win prizes at festivals.

To the good people of this forum, I apologize. I understand the error of my ways, and will no longer hawk my wares.

You are, I’m now quite certain, able to locate your own mortgage assistance and knock-off GoPro cameras.

I shall retreat to the darkest recesses of the internet, whence I came.

I know nothing of cricket and don't understand at all. Oh well.
I understand that baseball is played differently but an attempt at explaining what the Aussies did to the Kiwis that day.

Its game three of the world series, Braves are playing the Astros. Astros are trailing by 1 home run.
*This bit doesn't translate, but lets just say the game is limited by the number of pitches the pitcher can throw*
There is one pitch remining in the game at the bottom of the 9th. If the Astros hit a home run they tie the game and keep the series going. The Astros have their best hitter up.
But, theres a really old (and obscure) rule that no-one ever dreams of using because its considered utterly unsporting to play it that says the pitcher can roll the ball along the ground and it will be considered a valid pitch.
The Braves captain and pitcher decide that this is a great course of action and to the disgust of a lot of people (including some of their own team mates) the pitcher rolls the ball along the ground, the Astros batter can't hit it out of the ground and the game ends.

Astros are understandably pretty p!ssed, I mean hey, its only the world series! Astros hold a grudge about it with the Braves for 40 years (and counting). Due to the fallout over what happens the rules of baseball are updated to make sure no-one ever does it again.

Vladi could have hit it. (Guerrero).
Watching his swing brings tears to me eyes... :cautious:

The total impenetrability of the "rules" of cricket are completely overshadowed by the lack of same in Australian football. I once had the pleasure of watching a high-school match in Thornlie, WA. I still don't know what the heck happened or who won. But someone did, after which we drank lots of VB and - gag - Fosters.

Not sure if New Zealand has the same version of football or its own, never been there to observe. Maybe someday.

Aussie rules is a game designed for the more simple and uncultured. Fumble the ball, sure thats ok. Miss the goals? Well have a point for getting close. They have at least tried to clean it up a bit, no more clothes hangers (arm across the throat), shoulder charges to the head are banned etc. In the old days it was a brutal game with some horrific injuries.
If you don't like seeing people getting hurt then this video is definitely not for you
In NZ we play Rugby, the national team is the All Blacks, arguably the greatest sports team in the world. They are the most consistently successful team across any sport. The All Blacks win roughly three out of every four matches, with a 77% winning record over 100+ years. Between 2000 and 2010, New Zealand won 92% of their total games. In the next decade, they won 85% of their 133 tests. Amazon did a pretty good series on them recently.
