McGill McGot Him Again… Mikie is Down...

Mikie just lost his KOW. W=Walker. Got word that a 92yr old customer of my was up Kayaking in Tahoe while waiting on shore holding his sons dog. The dog pulled him over and he broke his upper hip. Had it replaced. I expected the worst. Got to his place today and there he was with his walker and a huge smile. I nearly teared up with joy. Unfrickenbelievable. I asked him if he was some kind of Superhero he just smiled and said he still had some stuff to handle. Like take Mikies KOW. Ok made the last sentence up. Tough and not a quiter.
I love that story!:inlove:

My friend Tom wadded up recently. He could barely put any weight on his right leg when he tried to get up. He was told to stay off his feet until the ortho had a look at him. He had to wait a few days to see the doc.
Sure enough, he has a fractured pelvis. Same advice as your Dr. Mikie. He is to use the walker and get up and walk.
Of course Tom is 87 and crashed getting out of bed.

Too soon? I figured I could get away with it because I'm way older than Mikie. And, he could still beat me on a bike with his pelvis tied behind his back.
By the way Tom is real. He is doing great and is in good spirits. He should make a full recovery.

@Mikie - what the heck you been doin'???? This just popped up at the top of the forum.

Ha, stabilizer links, too!
Speaking of Stabilizers...:whistling:
I Graduated today! o_O
Well, not really that exciting but...
I got to go see Dr. Bob yesterday! ( The worlds most amazing Chiropractor on The Planet! and a really good friend)
After putting my rib cage back where it actually belongs, not only was I able to take a deep breath for the first time in 3 weeks, but he told me I have graduated from Guardian Walker to Dueling Canes!
He stated that the Walker was now doing more harm then good, too much load on my damaged wrists and shoulder.

So just so you know, as a new Professional Dueling Speed Caner, on my very first walk, I learned some things and thought I pass this wisdom on to all of you.... you're welcome!
  1. Never! Place a cane on top of your foot while at speed... it can lead to disaster.
  2. Using two Canes you still must pay close attention to cane placement. Ground squirrel holes can lead to . . . disaster.
  3. Focus on cane reach placement. It must match the stride of your walk, or it can lead to... well, you guessed it.
  4. One point of good news. Those asphalt speed bumps are my bitches now! I can motor up one side and right down the other. I can't get air off them yet, but give me time!

Pics or it didn't happen.
I’ll tell you what I “DO” have pics of.
Just more and more evidence that mountain bikers are the best people on the Planet. AND...... that “imtbtrails” mountain bikers are the cream of the crop of all mountain bikers! I submit to you yet another example of how awesome this family is...

Got this box in the mail today from K-Oss and Greg. Now I thought two options:
With a name like K-Oss I figured Bomb. She just knew it was time to just put me down, out of my misery, no hope for me, loss cause. And she would be right to think that.

But nope!

Open the box to an awesome note and two smaller boxes with vacuum insulated drink holders in them.

So I carefully opened the first one hoping to not pull any triggers and low and behold! They actually are vacuum insulated drink holders... and, with no C-4 in them!

To top it off... they are imtbtrails vacuum insulated drink holders! I cried... They are way cool! I use the crud out of these containers!

@H2oChick and Greg!
Thank so much for such an awesome thought and gift! Taking the time and all to send them! These are going to get the life used out of them!

...and! I didn’t blow up!
;)Mikie

Good ole Dr. Bob he's the best for sure:thumbsup:. He could probably be filthy rich if he wasn't so darn honest and good at what he does. Instead he just makes you better as fast and economically as he can so you can get back to doing what you love. Rarely gives you any crap for crashing or doing stupid things and always loves to hear the full story of the crash so he can get a good laugh.
