Thought I'd be slick and slide into Whiting from the Borrego Trail. Not today. The Portola underpass is flooded. I'm not usually adverse to a water feature but that stagnant water looked rank. (You can just make out the reflection of said water.)

I don't think I would have gone.
I just look at the pictures and I'm scared. I should have more experience.

Pictures and video always make trails seem narrower than they really are.

It's easier at night when all you see is the trail and black on either side of it.

The upper section is sketchy but once you pass that part it’s pretty easy. You can look ahead and see what the trail is like. It looks worse than it really is. We have another trail called the “taint”, which I think is worse and have done many times.

Yes, at night. So that if I fall down, you won't find me there
