Here's an old man "back in my day" story...
I used to go to Salida every weekend from 1978-1981 (Monarch Ski Team in high school and kayaking on the Arkansas in the summer). None of that was there, of course, since mt. biking had yet to be invented and it would be three-four decades before there were bikes built that could handle trails like that, or any trails built like that!
