It's the, End of the Year as We Know It...

Statistically, I'm behind last year, and knowing my schedule it will be hard to catch up.

I'm going to have to elevate my game considerably in the first six months of 2019 to be able to finish BCBR.

I got a ton of miles walking with my kids this year but fell short of my mountain biking mileage goals. A successful year as a dad for my standards though and I logged a lot of driveway BMX time. Best takeaway from the year, my son loves bikes and his younger sister is already catching the bug as well.

Miles of smiles!

I had lofty goals, and was way ahead of schedule at the end of June. Then the wheels came off the family bus, life intruded, priorities shifted, and the riding tanked from July through September... And I really didn't mind. I should still hit 500,000 feet this week, with about 3500 miles so far. I'd like to hit 550,000 by the end of the year, just so it's not less than last year. We'll see...

Honestly though... Although I like to see the numbers as a personal fitness measure, I'll remember some of the group rides a lot longer than I'll remember the numbers. Big Bear with the gang? Rwanda? Nighttime motorway runs with the occasional guest star- even though there were a couple bloody close calls? True Grit? Bloody Bell with @mike ? Trabuco in the freezing rain with @mtnbikej? Hellacious Ride? Wrightwood- the socials and the death march? Pioneertown? All awesome... And to think I rode alone when I started.
