Industry Insiders Discuss Changing Standards...Podcast

Now, for one thing that I think is unnecessary. Are you guys ready? I'm going to get hammered for this, lol...

Plus wheels and tires. The added drag and weight is immediately noticeable. The added traction was never necessary for me in the first place.

We are not all alike with regard to what works for us. What makes a big difference for one, might seem/be insignificant to another.

Lots of hobbies/sports are always evolving with new standards and equipment. I remember new hockey skate models coming out every year with little tweaks that made the price get pushed up a little bit each time, back in the early 90’s I was buying $400 skates and $100 stick shafts. I could have bought the basic stuff that didn’t change much but I wanted the new boots with composite parts and new gel padding etc. Surfboards have new fin systems, materials etc that can make boards more pricey or you can stick with older school designs and spend a little less. Snowboards and skis get binding system redesigns and if you ride a lot you’re probably having to buy new gear more often thus changing your setups with the trends, not cheap but if it’s your main hobby you’re willing to spend money on it.

My new frame I got this year is boost and my wheel build is not so I got an adapter to make my current wheel work with the new spacing. Many of the parts on my bike are 4 years old and working fine still.
