Hear hear!!!Agreed, now lets get back to talking about Hightowers and Smashes and how it needs to stop raining by Wednesdays so the trails dry out for the weekend.

BOOM! Well said!Sidebar: The more divisive chatter that goes on here, the less I'll be likely to continue participating. I know we can't talk bikes every second. Sorry, but I don't care any more about your political leanings than I do what gets you off in bed or what deity you worship or not. Kumbaya, ya fking dirtheads.
Oops! Sorry meant to hit like, not replyI'll say this one thing about Trump, he has a long long long ways to go before he catches up to his predecessors in the category of misdeeds!
Nice! Color deets?Hear hear!!!
It’s looking imminent. My Smash is about get longer. And take on a coat of paint, WTF?? Aspiring GG alum devotees will have a medium raw frame to consider. It’ll show up in Classies here soon, most likely without a shock. Ping me if you have eyes, I’m talking with some chap about it already.
Are we predictably boring or what?
Nice! Color deets?
So, I got an email from GG today that I did NOT need to get. I kind of daydreamed out loud on here shortly after the Revved bikes were dropped about how an aluminum Smash and a carbon Trail Pistol could be a bitchin' quiver, though I thought of it as a possibility for the not so near future. Maybe a year 2 kind of thing, IF I felt so compelled. The email from GG today was directed at those who had taken delivery of a new OG bike within the last 3 months, with an offer to "upgrade" to Revved for XX% off. The XX amounts to a sick discount. Like, what pretty much what you'd expect a lightly used bike to go for. Like, a US made, carbon framed, GX Eagle built bike that starts with a $3. F$k me. I fully recognize the absurd overkill that having two brand new bikes would be for someone at my stage of the game. But I also recognize that this sort of opportunity will not likely present itself again. I would have to take advantage of the offer by the end of the month, or it drops to a still sick, but decidedly less sick discount. The spend thrift gear junkie in me is freaking the hell out.
I like where this is going.Just a little support and encouragement.......

I was thinking of you when I read about the perk, Matt. What I did not realize was the extent of your depravity in making it an add-on rather than an upgrade. Right on! The perfect storm...newly wrenched up shoulder meets two flavors of new trail crushers. Pace yourself, go like hell. AYENice! Color deets?

LambroGG, nice. When I decided to go paint instead of raw I was really torn between that and the F* Yeah Blue. Great color, and can't wait to see it.
Yeah, I didn't give the email that much thought when I got it, but I replied to see if it was an open ended deal, or something that had to be acted on quickly. When GG responded saying what the actual deal was my jaw dropped. IF I pull the trigger on the Revved bike I would be doing it without the intention of replacing the Smash (you know, the one I haven't even ridden on dirt yet, but will this weekend if weather cooperates), but I suppose theoretically it could turn into a shootout between the two for the permanent garage space. Or, maybe they will actually be the perfect compliment that I imagined.
Aye, brother herz! But...quality over quantity. Two GGs? OK, now we're talkin'! Gotta outnumber those Santa Cruzes somehow.
When (if?) @buggravy gets his TP we’ll have a 2.0 bpp average. @Sassyquatch might bring down our average to 1.66; I count his big guy bike as 1.5. Then there’s @Danimal champing at his bit to factor in. I think that’s all of us here, but there are others in SoCal.2 owners, 3 bikes
I wonder what the SC bike to owner ratio is on here.
I keep telling myself "if", but who am I kidding. I've been on and off the configurator pretty constantly since last night. My current config is Ride 1 build with upgrade to X01 Eagle drivetrain. With the current perk it's still healthily under $4K, and 4lbs lighter than my Smash. Do I even have a choice at this point? I like this train of thought. I may have my wife reach out to you to discuss. In all seriousness, while this is all feasible, it's not exactly responsible. Realistically I probably SHOULD be a 1-bike guy, so I may approach this like a long term shootout while I better dial in what I like. Yeah, that's it.!!!!!!!!!!
That would (will?) be some one-two punch! You are a lucky rider to be able to make that move. Actually, BS on that...you’ve worked hard to get where you are, and if you want two fancy exercise tools, you’ve earned them.
Hehe... Your lass can talk to the weazl. She's fully complicit in all of this.I like this train of thought. I may have my wife reach out to you to discuss. Really I just like the TP t-shirt better than the Smash t-shirt, and they don't seem to sell them without the accompanying bike, so I'll do what I have to do. Re: my better half, we recently upgraded her car so that she now has the nicest car in the house. That seems to have given me some recreational capital. She actually called me the other day while I was traveling for work to sort of passive aggressively tell me some heavy boxes were delivered for me that she had to carry in from the rain. I told her it was car parts, and braced for impact. She said, "oh", and then changed the subject. I couldn't believe it. Bet I'll be pushing my luck with the bike though. Oh well, occupational hazard.Hehe... Your lass can talk to the weazl. She's fully complicit in all of this.
I can dig the mental gymnastics. The great thing about making a substantial commitment to outdoor gear? You get a free monkey on your back with purchase.

Maybe it is like politics, and we're just louder than the others?
So when you bash our president, my president, I take offense and I am not offended easily. So I wish you would stop!
I have failed at this myself, but made the commitment to you and myself that I will be a better person on imtbtrails related to this subject.
I hope we are clear on this.
In fairness, the owners have diverse backgrounds in and outside of cycling. My guess is, Matt and Kristy took a love cut to pursue GG. Will probably had a punk band...I dunno.....but I do know that I have been pushing SC's since the owners of GG were still punks working in a LBS making minimum wage.

I dunno....I was pushing Santa Cruz skateboards when you were still playing with your Star Wars figures...even before Rob was riding for them, so I'm WAY cooler than you!
