I Went To A LBS Today.....

I think the biggest reason I stopped going in to an LBS is I got tired of them telling me they could get what I wanted in 2-3 weeks. Of course my response was I could get it in 2 days for much less. I don't think it's that difficult to follow trends these days with all the social media that's out there. Vince at JRA asks me quite often how I like certain tires as I ride all the stuff his customers do. Also if he doesn't have something he will order it that day and have it the next if not two days later. As they say it takes money to make money and in this day and age I think you need to spend just a little more if you want to stay in business.
I'm lucky in that my local shops can mostly get me next day parts as J&B distributors are right here in town.

...and this guy copped a serious attitude and laughed at me when I asked a question....

The problem being there's only a 50/50 chance that they order the right part... Or better yet argue with me about whether the part exists!

But that's a whole other discussion...
That sucks. I don't seem to have that problem. Though the owners of my LBS are pretty serious cyclists themselves, they ride as much as they can and host multiple shop rides that they lead. So they have a good idea what you need.

I can't ding them too hard, as they did try. An A for effort and all that. And the guy that argued with me about whether a Park master link chain tool isn't there any more. I ended up ordering it online just out of spite.
