I Rode My Bike Today...

Good for you! Looks like what I need to help cure my soul.

I wish I could ride but got two more bits of skin removed yesterday and they hurt more than the big chunk that was taken out last week which required stitches.

I am hoping to ride Tuesday since I have the day off, maybe Monday depending on my wounds.
Ouch, I feel ya! I’ve had pre cancer and cancer spots removed...it’s surprising how much it can hurt! Sweating doesn’t help with the pain either, so heal up fast and get your booty out there for some soul healing!

Rode with some hooligans up near Wrightwood

Went riding with @Faust29 today. Bell View and Caspers. I don't know the names of all the trails so I'll make some up...

First there was "Dude with a Busted Rear Derailleur" Hill. Then we rode along "Pretentious Community that Doesn't Want You to Ride Their Trails" Ridge. We dropped down into Caspers and rode "Sandyville Mcslipperystein" Trail through "Horse Apple" Valley. We climbed "This is the Steepest Hill on the Ride" Hill... about three times. Then we bombed down "Someone Needs to Teach the Guy with the Bulldozer How to Make Water Bars". We finished off with a final push to "I Always Give a Sigh of Relief When I Get to the Top of This" Hill. Quite a workout!

Fun ride hitting some new dirt. Definitely the place to go for interval training. When I could, I was trying to sprint up the hills and glide/rest on the backs. Good idea... for the first half of the ride. My legs were fried by the time we finished.

24.4 miles and 3xxx feet. Not sure what happened, but in the parking lot I could have sworn my computer was saying 3250 feet... but now that I'm home it is saying 3680 feet. Lies! I'll wait for Steve to post his results. Lot of ups and downs :)

Oh I almost forgot... we also rode "This is the Hill That @UPSed Didn't Clean During Rwanda"... I didn't clean it either :)

You forgot “Holy cow that’s a lot of rocks” after we dropped back to the creek level. :D

My daughter said she'll take that first 'house' on the right...:D

I did not ride but have explored the Ozarks. I thought they were mountains. I WAS WRONG. It is a giant plateau with massive canyons. Most have a creek or river at the bottom. It is all limestone. Limestone is wicked to ride on as the screed makes a glass like sound and the stones are very sharp. I have not found many trails yet but they will be 400-500 foot climbs with lots of damp roots.
Happy backwoods trails

That's a beautiful area.

Rwanda skipped that section this year, because it was too rocky after the rains.

Looking at the elevation profile of yesterday's ride... it is interesting to compare it to my normal Harding ride, LOL. Similar total elevation, but almost complete opposite in terms of general profile and type of riding!

But when I match vertical and horizontal scales... it looks a little different :)

Next time we can add on Oso... Harding will seem flat after that one.

With the mountain closed, I'd like to try a Taco Plaza- Caspers- Oso- San Juan ride this winter.

Gravel grinding showdown!

Did a ChLoop quickie this morning. It was wonderful in the shade but heating up quickly in the sun. The skies are fairly clear today. I could see Mt. San Jacinto to the East and well offshore on the Pacific to the West. Plenty of other riders out and walkers/joggers. I stopped at my hairdresser's on the way back and got a trim.

10.43 miles
1453'
8.5mph av speed

Same ride today as the first ride in this thread. Maybe different order. Definitely warmer today than that February day.

4 ups, 4 downs - alternating. 5-Oaks, Cholla, R-I, Mathis, Meadows, Cholla, Lynx. 17 miles 2700’. Sunny - getting hot by about 11. Not too crowded - no interruption on descents. Bike worked fine. I have some plans up my sleeve for dialing it in.

bikes are fun!
