Sierra Canyon to Star Lake via TRT and back. Good conditions overall. Many trail users on the Rim, a few riders prepping for Rose to Toad's next weekend. Food cache at Kingsbury = backpack-free riding. Well-placed and clear ground water resupplies along the route. 4:50am to 7:20pm.

Urban spin for me today. It has been interesting riding around where I live on streets and bike trails. I explored a new direction on the San Gabriel bike trail when I came up on the cement riverbed. It was calling me. I had to go down it. Have you ever seen Mikie pass up a nasty rocky downhill? I had to ride down the side into the bottom like a kid- just like I did back when I was 7 yrs. old on my Huffy. Only I broke my brand new XMas day bike in half on that day in the California Aqueduct. With 175 cranks I was able to climb out on a long angle with no pedal strikes. I laughed about it when I got back up to the top. I put a front headlight on my bike because to many drivers seem to not see me as I pass by. It's amazing how many cars do see you and hold back when riding by with a front light. 20.8 mi/ Climbing? Not much. Average Speed Strava 13.5. Average speed Apple watch. 11.8.

Whiting Ranch this afternoon. I abandoned plans to include The Luge when it felt about 800 degrees climbing Mustard. :devilish:

I rode some trails I rarely ride out there, including Borrego Beach, Sleepy Hollow & Dreaded. PR down Dreaded by 2 seconds ... no hikers in the way. Actually only came across two other bikes ... neither electric!

Troy Lee Trail this morning. Even at 7:30AM was too late to beat the heat as it felt hot with the sun exposure when climbing up 8:30AM.
Still fun, still fast with more booters in the middle section to launch off of if you choose to.

Last time I did laps on Troy Lee it was on a DH bike as a part of a DH clinic. I don't recall it being particularly chunky, but I'm sure I wouldn't want to ride a hardtail down it.

I use to ride the SGR from Washington Blv to the beach and back 3x during the week and never on the weekends when the Pio Pico was Governor of Mexico California......

Started my goto quick ride before the heat kicked in this morning. After changing out the stem and bars on Ol' Blue back to1990's specifications. It was a enjoyable ride. Easier to climb and just felt right.
Almost hit my top speed goal of 40mph and did a 39.3 mph today...maybe Thursday.

I'm anxious, though a little scared to hear your detailed feedback on the Stumpy. The siren song of the Pro build is strong, though the price is hard to stomach. And Pinkbike classifieds are rife with languishing large Sentinels, so I feel like unloading mine wouldn't be automatic.
