I Need A New Saddle...

I am not enjoying my Chromag Lynx DT all that much. It's a pretty good shape, the color is right, but I keep sliding up unto the nose during riding and have to re-position WAY OUT THE BACK to hit the comfort spot. Still better than the old WTB's I had used, but my favorite was the SDG Bel Air.... Used those on every bike :) but my how times (design trends)have changed. maybe I need a new saddle.

Can I try your Lynx? I can swap you a Volt (black w/green), Silverado (Black), Rocket V (White) or Chromag Trailmaster (black) while I try the Lynx.

Just found out I have narrow sit bones and should be on a narrow saddle. Then found out why that matters. I have an older Rocket V (titanium!) I slapped on for my next few rides. The white looks horrible on my bike, but, if it improves my comfort, I'll get a black one.

The Chromag has a great nose, and I like the way it allows full leg extension, but I was still in a lot of pain at the end of the 3 or 4 rides I did on the saddle. It's about 145mm, and evidently I should be on 130-135. Honestly, 10mm shouldn't make much difference. I am still convinced my problem has nothing to do with saddle and/or shorts, but everything to do with age and compounding irritation.

Actually that 10mm makes *all* the difference for me. I develop irratation / tendonitis on too wide of saddle (143-145 up). I do think it is compounded by age / decreased flexibility etc. Though, But I can't ride wider saddles anymore

I have the SME3 also and I like it.

It is also so Enduro!

Update on the SME3:

Been on quite a few ride on this saddle and I like it. I find that it was a bit more difficult to find the proper position the either the Phenom or the much thinner Silverado, though. Dialed it in with a miniscule amount of nose down since the TiNox rails seem to flex a bit.
Comfortable on the climbs and easy to grip with the thighs on the downhills.

Never heard of Speed Defies Gravity (mostly a moto parts company, I reckon) saddles until one came spec'ed on my Smash:

Made for all mountain? So they say. I really like it for all things technical and haven't noticed any hotspots. All day might show some limitations, but my ass is rock hard these days and I could probably ride a block of wood for hours. In other words...disregard this "review"! :D

I used to run a white SDG saddle with red kevlar edges.
Loved that seat and it looked great too.
Right proper seat as long as your glutes are up to the task.

Update to the update on my SME3:
Slid the saddle about 5mm forward to help alleviate some numb hands I've been getting.
So far so good...

Been running an SGD Falcon for 4 years now and haven’t found a reason to ditch it.

He DOES ride a Chick Saddle... but he can still kick my azz on any climb so...:whistling:

And after our hellacious hell ride on a WTB saddle left me unable to walk for a week, I went searching for a new chick saddle! I found one on ebay at 1/2 off. The old chick saddle is on the Highball. Comparing the old model side by side with the 2.0, they are identical in shape and design. ISM changed the color, changed the name, and doubled the price. But it's pretty much impossible for the guy parts to get numb on this saddle...
