Greetings from the Tar Heel state

I've riding my mtb for a couple of years now have an old specialized rock hopper hard tail, and just today ordered my first full suspension bike, I will be posting pictures of it, can't wait!!
Welcome. Where do you like to ride? I have relatives in Chapel HIll. I think we have another Carolinian who posts here. He is a So Cal ex-pat who moved out there for a calmer lifestyle and found it.

Welcome to imtbtrails @14ero !
I’m in Northwest Arkansas now.
Excited about your new bike!
Ride lots, write lots.
Let me know if you are ever out this way.

Mikie

You have never been in Arkansas in your life, clown. Guess who has,? Me. it sucks.
I have. And the weather sucks most of the time, compared to our little overtaxed slice of heaven. But at least they build mt bike specific trail networks and embrace mt bikers. That will all change with New Bentonville and the #Lagunabeachbikepark

And now you're resorting to name calling? Really? At least come up with something clever. "Am I like a clown to you?"

From name calling to misogyny. Yup - following the playbook to a "T" - Make America 1955 Again!

I enjoy riding with you. I have avoided riding with most everyone for the past year due to my physical limitations - I am riding primarily to stay in riding shape with the eternal hope that I can return to kicking your ass down the hill. Not sure if that's gonna happen anymore, so you may have to resort to beating yourself! :sneaky: :Roflmao

Oh - and my apologies to @14ero - Clint and I should spar on a separate thread for y'all's entertainment. Congrats on the new Rocky Mt and get out there and enjoy your trails.

Merry Christmas, All!

Northwest Arkansas is awesome! Period. I’m confident the collective trail network investment is now in the billions. The mtb vibe from the community is amazing. People from all over the world come here to ride mountain bikes. All the City planning and development includes trail network development.
Say what you want, as you do anyways, but this place is home sweet home for singletrack loving mountain bikers.

I would ride NE Alabama back in the day. Back then I was pretty much the only one out there. I would crash every so during my 6 week stays. I would come back on the top of the mesa and hikers would stare at me and my bloodied forearms. After a couple of years I would go back and rent a bike to ride the same trails. Guess what, two wheeled riding on limestone became popular. I no longer had the trails to myself. The riders opened up more trails I could ride. It was the bomb. One trail looked like the Bug Gravy's photograph. A nice steep drop that was torn to crap, step after step, it was way fun. I will be heading out to South Missery, in the springtime and try some of those trails Mikey has mentioned. One thing, those east coast trails have Poison Ivy and Poison Oak. So it was riding where you never made the "trails a little wider", or at least try not to.
Happy trails in the east.
