I had a small miracle happen this last week.
Monday morning woke up with a sore throat on the left side. By Tuesday morning BOTH side were inflamed! I panicked! My annual aerospace shutdown was the following week and there was NO WAY I was going to spend it on the couch sick!
Had Mrs. imtbtrails contact my sister who used to work at the Whole Wheatery, a Health food store in Lancaster as I was driving into work, and ask her if she knew of a secret weapon to kick a flu’s azz!
My sister said, “Yup!” Go there and ask them to make you a Ginger Shot with Cayenne Pepper.
Say what? But who was I to question or retort when I’m desperate!
A Ginger Shot is a nutrient-dense powerhouse that packs a punch. If you’ve ever had one, those colds and flus are going to be stopped in their tracks. Fast! It did for me!
This shot glass consists of three main fresh ingredients and I would go as far to say focus on Organic:
- Ginger
- Lemon
- Cayenne pepper
Ginger provides upset stomach and digestive relief, warms you up, and lessens aches and pains associated with colds and flu. Ginger is a great expectorant and will help break up mucus in the lungs as well as soothe even the most painful sore throats.
Lemon boosts immunity, detoxifies the body, and provides a nice dose of food-based vitamin C.
Cayenne is potent and effectively treats fevers, poor circulation, nausea, and other digestive complaints. All you need is a dash to benefit from its medicinal properties.
Here’s how to make a basic Ginger shot:
- Juice ½-1 whole lemon
- Juice 1-inch piece of ginger
- Add a dash or two of cayenne pepper
Knock it back at the onset of a cold, or just when you feel like a little pick-me-up is in order. You’ll feel the effects fairly quickly.
By the time I got there on Tuesday and got my shooter, I was more congested than the intersection of the 405 and 101 Freeways and had a major headache! There was no hope for me. I also got four packets of Emergence-C, one for each day to finish last Friday. I picked up some organic lemons, organic ginger root, and organic cayenne pepper at the health food store, and Cathy and I made shots each morning before I left for work.
By Wednesday, I was already feeling a 10 fold better. Thursday was great, Friday was awesome, Saturday rode 20 miles with my buds on Golden Eagle. My 2 week escape from work over the Holidays has been saved!
Just thought I would let my imtbtrails Brothah’s and Sistah’s know!
