Describe SoCal fun/technical terrain with a picture

Not really one to stop allot on downhills to take pictures, and usually think of whole trails, not really sections of a trail, since allot of my favorite trails have fast flowy stuff that lead into some challenging tech stuff, and it's all fun taken as a whole. Here's my couple of favorites:

Exploration Trail... you can hit the full 5 mile length 2 or 3 times in a day

San Juan from Blue Jay, counter-clock around the lollipop, Viejo Tie, and Chiquito to the candy store. Guess you could shuttle up and do it again but it's tough for a shuttle ride, around 13 miles and some climbing and HABing.

Too many good ones to find pics to post here, You can search the ride reports and find more pics of these.
And...Ramona trail would be up there in the same category but it's kinda far away. Skinsuit (steep and rutted), Ding Dong (steep), Yeager (steep and techy), Upper and Lower Holy Jims, the lower part of HJ is always a challenge to make it through the creek crossings without a dab, and the lower part of Trabuco from the WHT split down is just a fast blast, I'd go back up and do that over a couple times in a day, but it's usually the happy ending to a bigger ride...

Guess I'll have to go ride Insidious tomorrow to grab a pic of the most fun, butt pucker trail I've ridden.

When I reach the bottom, my knees are shaking, I'm smiling a mile long, adrenaline pulsing through my body, then I shout out: Let's do it again!!! :geek:

So true. The first half dozen times I rode Insidious I'd get all stressed before dropping into the Squirrel Catcher. I was afraid some of the rocks would be knocked out of place or loose setting me up for a hard fall. The rest of the trail is a challenge, but fun.

This is the toughest part of Car Wreck. It's an off-camber, chunky mess with no clean lines.
It's hard to tell how steep this section is, just from the pic. Have you ever seen anyone ride up it? Is it possible? I'm weird like that... Looking at it and trying to find me a line, up it.

Couldn't agree more..funny i was wondering if someone would mention it..so since you did, here is a screen grab. This shot does not do the first drop into the squirrel trap justice

Tagged along with @ridinrox to see it in person. Don't think these pics do it justice either.

Rox showed me all the ways up, and even ways down (no crashes!), and got to tour most of the good stuff in the area. It was my first time here on the singletrack. I ended up staying quite a while to play (~6 hours).

The singletrack climbs here are really well designed. A local told me one guiding principle was to make it so children could also ride it. They are pretty fun, especially if you go fast, since they're snaking up down and left and right and aren't steep at all. Relatively painless to get back to the top to ride down the DH trails.

Just curious to know which line everyone takes here..... left? right? Center? avoid at all costs???

From the top looking/going down the left has a nice little drop you can take mid way down and the right can be rolled through quite easily. I switch it up but I see a lot of people sticking to the right side (right side while going down).

My pic in post #2 of this thread shows the view from the top.

I think I was describing the same thing as MtnbikeJ, only opposite (stage right house left)

If anyone knows Gerry, I followed him down the line I described as he set a KOM for that section, so I figure that's the "fastest" route, for the public trail fantasy racing crowd.
