Coronavirus. Not to be confused with Norcovirus.

I must be the odd one here because I rather enjoy doing the weekly shopping at the super market. Joking around with the checkers is fun. I also enjoy seeing the tellers at the bank. NFW am I gonna walk up to an ATM. I guess I'm a lil old school, but I really hate how machines are replacing human jobs. I wish this damned COVID-19 would infect the machines.

This pretty much reflects my thinking. I too like interacting with humans.

It boggles my mind, in this age of Amazon Prime, that anyone goes to any store for toilet paper.

It boggles my mind that for many people in this age, Mazlow's hierarchy of needs has devolved into the ability to wipe your ass with a disposable towelette.

Safety? Water? Food? Doesn't matter!

FWIW there is NO shortage of paper towel or toilet paper in the country. Happy wiping! I did pick up a couple of P95 respirators though. First, because unlike 75% of the face masks being sold, they actually work to protect from viruses, and second, because I use them when working with solvents and pesticides.

Hear me now, believe me later... actual mortality rate is going to end up being lower than for the flu, once they have calculated true case rates. All the doomsday preppers are going to wake up in May and realize they freaked out over a virus that killed 5,000 people... while the 2019/2020 flu season kills 50,000 globally.

I believe you now and later. It’s true.

I agree that the "disposable" towelettes are misguided, but we don't have to live like animals. If I got poop on my arm, I wouldn't just wipe it with a paper towel. :geek:

If it bleeds, it ledes!

(and no that isn't a typo... look it up)

May not be a typo, but also isn't what you think. Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard. That's the biggest number of hits. The "genitive absolute definite natural masculine form of led" may have been relevant 1,500 years ago, but not today and not in English. We lost all that grammatical crap a long time ago, thank (insert favored deity).

If it's something else, it matters even less.

When I worked at the LA Times, back when people cared about print media, the lede was the first part of the story, the "hook" that got people to read the entire article. That expression was used on the newsroom floor. People don't care about news unless it involves death and destruction - the bloodier the better. It's why people can't drive by a car accident without staring. The hypocrisy is that the mass media is making money by hyping the crap out of "coronavirus hysteria". Then they'll run stories about how there was a hysteria in the first place, and "how did it happen?" Oh, the irony!

By the way... I tried to find an original Don Henley video of "Dirty Laundry"... and it doesn't exist, at least not on YouTube. The video was blackballed because it was critical of media :)

For internal sterilization only, especially while waiting in line at Costco.

Wicked movie

Earthquake kits folks ...

There is a lot of sensationalism... And someday there will be a nasty pandemic so it's like rain in socal.. first day is chaos perhaps with a little practice perhaps we can prepare and respond in an orderly fashion.

Read about the Spanish Flu if you want to learn about what bad is... Scary part attacked us ... The healthy...
