The Garmin site still won't give me the gps file... But I have November's course and the upcoming January course side by side... It looks like the start is the same counter-clockwise route as the June event. After the Marine Hill section (DH this time), we drop down and head straight to the Bridges climb at mile 2.

Has anyone tried a handlebar bottle system for their second bottle for this event? I have space for two cages, but one of them is very inconvenient. Thanks in advance.

I don't use it for the Temecula ride, but I have a mount that I've used in really hot weather for long rides. It was $8 from King Cage. The only negative is that I have to move the Garmin to the handlebars...

I used two bottles in June, but the course was shorter and it was a lot cooler in November, so I only needed one per lap.

All races are rain or shine! That would make for a really brutal day... But I'd still do it.

Not totally true. A few years back Jason stopped a race just after the half way point because the course was just getting to dangerous from all day rain. I was one of the last riders on the course about an hour before he shut it down. It was a mess. If you didn't bring a SS, your bike became one as the entire drivetrain loaded up with sandy mud. I dropped and wedged my chain 3 times before I just stuck it in a gear and left it there. The worst part was it was almost impossible to see. I had sandy mud in my eyes and I used my water bottle to try and wash them out while riding. glasses were useless. People were falling over just trying to walk on some sections. So many bailed out early because they didnt want to trash their race bikes. I think he decided it was going to be really bad after it got dark so he pulled the plug. It was a total mess. but it was fun.

hey that said, if anyone wants a team mate for 3-5 man team I would be your guy. willing to show up for all 3 races if ya want. sport class. I'm not super fast but I'm not slow

I am signed up. Doing the entire series is one of my goals this year.

I haven't put in nearly enough miles since the holidays, and I'm just starting to get comfortable on the single speed. This may really end up as a lesson in humility.

Go big....or don't go at all.

I still have not committed for this yet. I'll see where I am next week. Maybe I'll just do the sprint version of 12 hr.

I'm not going to make the Jan version of this one (And I hadn't even decided if I was even going to do it). I haven't gotten on my bike since I returned from China and am putting in insane hours at work right now. So I'm not going to be in shape.

I'm on the fence..... I'm looking for a partner for a 6 hrs double.
I was thinking about the doing the 6 hrs solo, but I'm not ready for a long pain fest.

If anybody is interested please send a PM.

Ok... I feel spoiled now. I told my wife that she doesn't have to come along this time, but she insists. As long as there's a cell signal, she can get some work done and she's happy. We'll try to snag the same general spot as last time. As you enter the parking area, you'll see all the cool kids with the teams down at the right side. We ended up on the far left, which was pretty empty, and allowed us to park the car right next to the easy-up. As a solo rider, this worked out really well. Feel free to stop in and say, "HEllO!".

Gray Volkswagen SUV and an easy up... Dark blue Salsa with orange handlebars, and only one gear. I will most likely be in my IMTB jersey.
