I'm not sure I can like a post that has a 4 AM start time listed...
It wouldn't be the first time I started that early.

PS Anyone know a good food and beer place in O'side near the pier or train station for our post ride lunch?
Racing Over the Hump tonight. Should only be mid 80's.
Evening road rides Wednesday and Friday to stay out of the heat (and 'cuz I have to work during the day.)
It should cool off a bit by Sunday - me and some friends are gonna do a road ride Irvine to Oceanside Train stations - the coast should keep us cooler.

PSS My first cyclocross race was 105º F at Irvine Lake. Since then, I've had about half a dozen or so pushing 100. Rode some in PHX in August a few years back. Some MTB and road - up to 112ºF. It actually didn't feel all that bad when moving - but once you stopped, the sweat flood was huge.
The high was @#$%#$&^$^HYEUURJYWTGERYRhhhhh.....
Solid team-building!8 mile lunch ride to Sugarloaf Mountain, Riverside with Doug the Planner!View attachment 19164700' elevation felt like 7,000'
Doug went OTB and then to urgent care. My boss is irritated with me for being a "bad influence." "No more rides during work!" She says.

View attachment 19167 8 staples. Doug qualifies for the 100 degree club in my book.
Too close to that reprehensible ocean! Come over to the Inpand Empire for some ridiculous atmosphere!with all this 100 degree talk .. I hit Santiago about 3pm on a last weekday. No body at all in the entire park.. just saw one crazy runner going down deer.
only 97 degrees... still not a member... arg.

He doesn't have to go that far! I can get him a solid 100-110 in parts of Caspers. I'll even throw in a climb with 30% grades for a little extra special suffering.
And even worse? He'll be able to see the ocean!
I'm with you on that! The Garmin hit 103 last week on the upper holy jim downhill, normally I don't trust the Garmin temp reading but it felt every bit that. If I was pedaling up when it got that hot I would have turned around long beforeI actually don't want to be in the 100 degree club!
Looks like Labor Day is your chance at making this club... looks like it will be boiling!
