I Rode My Bike Today...

solo aliso ride this morning. I avoided the meadows/ms connector kerfuffle by pedaling up summit ave from home, then down mentally, over to 5 oaks, up cholla, down stairsteps and back home. Mentally is in great shape, but very overgrown near the bottom, hard to see the trail! Also the mustard was wet from the mist last night so my bike and i got covered in water and mustard pollen-clay-dead grass substance. Hadnt done 5 oaks since they did that work. I dont like that stupid paver at the top of the chute but i must say I enjoyed that long paver berm at the left hander. Nice and cool, if humid, this morning. Felt strong on the climbs, but ran out of gas near top of cholla. only a saw a handful of other park users.

Arrived at cooks corner at 7:00am to knock out a loop. Mates were pedaling over from whiting so tried to time my pace to get caught. They got me at the flag.

Overgrowth up STT was barely rideable in spots. I was soaked wet head to toe from Dew on the weeds and covered mostly yellow from mustards.

I cruised the DH and got a -10 second PR. So it's True, Enve bars are faster!!!!!!!

I wonder if you tasted like mustard in that pic? ;)

Another day another ride to & from work and another broken spoke that shot thru the rim tape on a frikking smooth blacktop section. At least I had a nice pretty flower bed to stop & work on my bike. Guess it's time for another re-lace with new spokes and to quit riding the trail bike to work. How ironic that it happened on the day they announced the V3 Ripley. Maybe it's an omen...

It's calling your name..you will be assimilated.

Ask @Danimal - I think he got tagged by one recently.
@SnakeCharmer

Don't know what tagged me but DAMN! Pulled a shiny back stinger from my leg that looked like a small roofing nail.

OMG the pain... burning electric shock like pain, was all I could do to stop the bike without falling. Thing flew up my shorts when I was riding full speed and got the inner thigh. Swelled up an inch tall and 8" diameter, and was burning up. About a week for the swelling to go down.
Whatever it was, it was an experience I do not want to repeat.
