WTBorrow: 26" Slick/BMX Tire

So I kinda' impulse purchased a Clinton-era Santana Cilantro. It is a 26" model, but that was intentional as I want to fit fatter tires on it than my 700C 'rek tandem will fit (~40mm). It has some 26x1.75" Schwalbe Marathons right now, but I want to try on some larger tires. As I don't know what the max size it will fit is, I want do some dry runs before I commit. Does anyone have something like this they could mail out to me to try to fit as a proof of concept? If successful, I'll go ahead and order a set, but as these will probably be the last set of tires I'll buy for it, so I want to be sure on the sizing! I think a 2.1 will fit, and I think a 2.35 won't fit, so a 2.25" experiment would be exactly what I'm hoping for. But a 2.1 would work, as I could eyeball and see if a 2.25 would squeeze in. I'll cover postage both ways. Thanks!

Updated story: I found some Schwalbe Big Ben 2.15s at Bike Tires Direct https://www.biketiresdirect.com/product/schwalbe-big-ben-performance-26-tire-hs-439
I was hoping to fit 2.35 or at least 2.25, but these 2.15 tires will be okay. Bigger than the 1.75 ones there now, and definitely wider than the 700X40C Nomads on the T200. I went ahead and got them from BD as they'll be here Saturday vs. three weeks from now if I order from Germany. I'm coming to terms with the tandem. It doesn't have the clearance I want, but still more than the T200 I'm coming from. Instead of running psi up at 80, I can drop it down to around 55 with these tires. That'll be significant! Still not a fan of the funky 160mm rear spacing, but will deal with that if/when it ever becomes a problem.

Okay, an end to this saga. The 2.15 Big Ben's arrived last night. Out of the box and pumped up to 60psi (400lbs gross on them). I maybe could fit on some 2.25s, but that would leave some really tight clearances front and back. These will be great. They measure out at 51 mm, which is 10 mm more then our Trek could fit. So I'm happy about that!

I always keep an eye out for a Salsa Powderkeg, which would fit our needs about perfect, but they are a few and far between on the used market. if something changes and we really start putting big miles on this, I would consider getting a custom build that would have everything exactly as I want on it. But at this point, this will do fine!
