Wrightwood on MLK Day

Since we've skipped winter and gone straight to late spring, I'm gonna head up to Wrightwood on Monday which is a day off for us educators ;) .
Planning to start from Jackson Lk at 10:00, head up Blue Ridge Trail to check out the SOT, then over to the Jackson Trails. Not expecting much snow except in the deepest shady spots and the rest should be hero dirt to dust! Let me know if you're in!

Sounds good to me, I would be up for the Punch Bowl also, unless there isn't not much mileage to be had. I'm hoping there are trees up there, I miss them.

We can do the Punchbowl. No SOT but it'll be new dirt for ya! If we go to South Fork Campground (lower trailhead for Manzanita) and back it would be about 18-20 miles. There would be a nasty, mile long HAB coming back from South Fork but it is fun on the way down! No other responses so far. We could do a shuttle  from Blue Ridge to Manzanita then to the Punchbowl which would include the nasty HAB. You call it H^B!

You must be riding with Bankers, Government Workers, Activists, Self Employed, Unemployed, and other School Teachers, Cuz I sure don't have the day off!
Enjoy the day!!!

you can do punchbowl to South Fork like you said and then back or you could ride the road back to Punchbowl (or leave a car at the bottom of the road).

Another option is shuttle (yes I said it). leave a vehicle at Punchbowl parking lot then drive to Manzanita trail head. ride Manzanita to South Fork then from Southfork to Punchbowl. And the hike a bike on southfork to punchbowl is more like 100 yards at the top of the ridge before dropping back into punchbowl trail. WEell I guess th eswitchbacks at the bottom might be tough for some:)

either way i can't go (MLK who?)

Cool! I did get a slightly pulled hamstring playing hoops Thursday night but I don't expect it to be a problem for biking on Monday. Where do you want to go? Punchbowl or Wrightwood SOT?

What a beautiful day in Acton today, hope tomorrow is the same and you're hamstring is all good. Hard for me to decide between new dirt, or hero dirt? Leaning toward new dirt if you think I'll like it, and maybe I should ride something legal for a change. This reminds me also, maybe I can get you and your poll saw out there sometime to help me cut out the PO at the end of that sweet ST Lucky Charms. Maybe just the hedge trimmers and pitch fork will do it.
