Who needs rear brakes?

While the ripmo is waiting for parts, I did my lunch ride on the hardtail. Brakes didnt quite feel right, and realized i had a brake mount adapter on the fork. Swapped forks last week and didnt remember that the 2018 pikes are already spaced for 180mm rotors. Instead of heading back home, i swapped the rear brake bolts for the front, and finished the ride without using the rear.

What other janky solutions have you done to finish out a ride?

The spring snapped on a CB EB pedal during ride, some years ago. I used a mini bungee cord and a small zip tie to hold it together and it had enough tension to get clipped in to finish the ride.

I would have just used the rear brake and not the front.

After riding all the way down Main Divide and Holy Jim from Santiago Peak with only front brakes I totally agree with you here @Grego!
