What used 150-160mm frame?

Say I want to replace my aging 2010 Mach 5 (bought new) with something slightly newer and used. What would one suggest? I would just swap over my existing parts. It would be a bike that I would pretty much only use on shuttle or left rides. I have a 29er HT and a road bike that I use the majority of the time. Does under 1k for a frame sound reasonable? I guess it would have to be on the same level or better than the Mach 5. I'm not hot to trot to get another frame...but if a deal was to come along. Since there are soooo many manufacturers now and with the 27.5 being the hot ticket...I would think there would be lots of used 26 frames available for real good deals. A friend of mine was going to sell me his Covert frame for 500 last year...I kinda regret that I didn't jump on it.

So any thoughts or recommendations on 26in frames?

Your Pivot Mach 5 employed some fairly old-school geometry, with a steep-ish head angle around 69 degrees. Not so great for the steeps.

For a park bike in a 26er in that travel range, you will not beat a Knolly Chilcotin, especially one with a CCDBa on it. Start looking. I can get you a new one for a great price, but you're not supposed to know that. :shh:

Haha...I've seen that video before...

I put a 150mm fork to replace the original 140mm Fox fork. I had to add an external cup that is 12mm in height to run the tapered fork. Not sure how much that would slack the front end.

I'll check out the Knolly. :)

Here is a pic of what it looks like now. I swapped out most of the parts. It came with a 90mm stem and some 660 bars.

Yeti SB-66, Spec SJ FSR Evo, Enduro, and Evil Uprising were the most well reviewed of their breed in recent history. Shouldn't be hard to find alloy ones under 1200. Carbon is another story, but prob overkill for shuttling.

Say what size and we can keep a look out. Good deals sell out fast, so...

There is a Yeti SB66 on Comp Cyclist for 999...tempting...
