What do you do with extra bikes laying around?

I'm in a predicament to sell my TREK ht (3900 Disk) or make it into a thrasher/jump bike. I took all the decent parts and moved it over to my new bike. I ordered a shorty stem..maybe if the wifey likes it, I'll sell her bike which is worth more. What have you guys done..try to sell it or decomission it give it to kids/friends/etc? It does look kinda cool as the frame is matte black..maybe go for a ominous rock-a-billy rat rod ala RF/Coop..post up any MTB creation/concoction you have as another ride.

An option is to put it on the "Pay It Forward" Forum.

I just gave a Kid a old road bike so he can have a fighting chance doing Triathlons. He was jacked out of his mind as he was riding a hybrid...and gives you a warm fuzzy at the same time... :D
 
My Pivot mach 5 is sitting in the garage unused since buying the Rocky mountain altitude carbon bling fest.
Figure I should sell it so someone else can enjoy a top tier used bike at a great price.

But it being in the way constantly in the postage stamp sized garage would be missed. :think:
 
Get your friends out in the dirt by offering them to use your spare bike and take them to the trails. They may catch the bug then either give them the bike or sell it to them on the cheap.

I thought of that, and it's a great idea.
On problem though, I'm short, they're tall.
Now if you know any clowns that want to mtb....

Small bikes work great for getting the girls in our lives out riding.
 
If the rich people of southern california don't want to pay me money for my used bike, I'm not gonna just let them take it off me for nothing. Generally I try to give to a friend though or donate it for the tax deduction.
