Ride Name: Vincent Gap/Blue Ridge Out and Back
When: Tuesday 12/19
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Where: Vincent Gap on Hwy 2 about 6 miles west of Wrightwood
Ride Description or Details:
Paved climb east on Hwy 2 to the top of Blue Ridge Road. Continue on to the east past Guffy Campground. I can't divulge any more details due to 5th Amendment concerns. It will be fun. Mt. High is open with manufactured snow. Therefore some trudging across ski runs is expected.

Meet Location: Main parking lot at Vincent Gap on Hwy 2. AKA top TH for Manzanita and for hiking to the top of Mt. Baden-Powell. It's about 6 miles west of Wrightwood
Skill Level: Intermediate
Ride Pace: Social Cruise, Easy with Moments of Effort
Type of Ride: Out and Back
Rider Limit: Anybody with the day off. I'm a teacher so I have 3 weeks off for Christmas!
Anticipated Mileage: 24
Elevation Gain: Lots. Tops out at roughly 8400 ft. so it's high altitude
Ride Duration: 3-5 hours
Previous Ride Reports: Not much evidence has been left behind.
Possible Bail-Outs: Turn around anytime. Blue Ridge Trail
Facilities: Outhouse at Vincent and maybe Grassy Hollow if open.
Food/water suggestions: Lots of food for calories in cold weather. Same with water. High is forecast to be 52 but could be colder. Bring layers to add for descents.
