Trails near Julian, CA

I will be camping near Julian this week, and was wondering if anyone knows any trails nearby?

I know mt Laguna is not too far from there but is there is anything closer that I could ride to from the campsite (William Heise park), or at least a short drive?

Santa Ysabel Open Space and Cuyamaca SP aren't too far of a drive. Not sure if there are trails within riding distance. Others might know though.

Are there actual trails in those parks or just fire roads - on the map it looks like mostly fire roads to me?

I did the Julian Death March there last spring... It was mostly fire roads, but some of the climbs were brutal. Google "Oriflame Canyon"...

Rich Wolf is the organizer of the death march, and he is on STR pretty often. He may be able to give you some pointers...

Definitely trails in both parks, more so at Cuyamaca. I thought Cuyamaca was better than Santa Ysabel.
