Bummer! I know Herzalot will be disappointed. No word yet on continued support, but the outlook is bleak.

I just saw this and was going to post the same thing. I hadn't ever heard about these forks except from Herz... and now ... no mas.

I have never owned a Marzocchi and have not seen anything new from them in a few years. It is sad but I bet somebody will buy the company eventually.

they've been putting out some awesome products including the 380 DH forks, the 350 "enduro" forks, several new rear shocks and a dropper post. This from last April:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.pinkbike.com/news/marzocchi-dropper-post-epd-350-ncr-sea-otter-2015.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.pinkbike.com/news/marzocchi- ... -2015.html</a>

Their customer service is beyond comprehension. I just talked to them today and they invited me up there (Long Beach) to install a manual lockout switch in place of the remote that came with the fork (I don't want another lever on my bars, and don't use lockout often). One of the higher ups told me to put 50 hours on the fork, then he would personally tune it specific to my needs, wants, tastes. If they close completely and these guys lose their jobs I will be really bummed. Such a great product - but nobody buys them. Marzocchi used to be all you would see in Canada and on the front of every serious descender's bike. They f-ed up from 2008-2010 and their forks went to hell. they fixed it for the 2011 model year, but the damage was done. Marzocchi was no longer OEM on any serious bikes.

The 350 I just got is stunning. It took four rides to break in, but damn is it supple and confident. It looks great too.

Hey Cane Creek - wanna buy a great suspension company to round out your offerings?

Poor Herzy....it's ok lil buddy, you'll survive. keep that chin up!

This is EXACTLY how I feel. If you have ever ridden a Marzocchi, you would feel this way too.

I say we take up a collection and buy the company from Tenneco!!!!! I'm in for $100.

PS - Ironically, I am currently wearing the Marzocchi T-Shirt they gave me two weeks ago. Sniff, sniff

Yeah, I bet some suspension company will buy them and revive the brand. Just give it time. I looked at their website and they do have some nice forks.

Wanna try mine? Never mind, that would suck - cuz you would love it.

I think Pinkbike jumped the gun or exaggerated. This is a quote from a UK Marzocchi dealer (not official):

"Marzocchi News: As some of you are aware of last night’s press release that lit up the internet from Tenneco and we wanted to clear a few things up.
This morning we have spoken directly to the factory and I can confirm the following points.

• Sadly the Marzocchi moto factory in Bologna is now closed.
• Tenneco do indeed have the MTB business for sale.
• MY2016 MTB fork production is going ahead.
• New product for 2016.
• Marzocchi MTB will be at both the EUROBIKE (B1-302) and INTERBIKE shows.
• Race support continues.

Most importantly for our customers and the end consumer regardless to what may or may not happen, all forks and rear shocks sold will continue to be supported with the full WARRANTY and spare parts back up.
More news when we get it.

note: This is not an official communication from Tenneco or Marzocchi"

I am likely to be going up there today, so I can find out a little more, although it's often the employees who are last to know.

And of course, I just realized none of you here really care, since 99% of you are on Fox or Rock Shox with a few strays on X Fusion.

What Herz posted doesn't seem to be some joke. The MTB division in North America is still open, which consists of 11 employees (inc those overseeing things in Taiwan), and are still turning new product. Like some previous articles state, it's just the Italian moto fork side with issues with the union, and that the Taiwan-made mtb stuff will continue to operate. They did state that they would make a decision mid-2015, after cutting about 50 of the 170 Italian employees in 2011 (source). Their social media is still being updated:

I went up to Marzocchi today. Confirmed the items in my post above. they are not closed, not out of business and not (yet?) going out of business. They are for sale - nothing more. The press release that Pinkbike exaggerated was simply official notification to stockholders of that which was already announced months ago. If you are in the market for a fork, I highly recommend taking advantage of the confusion and get one for a steal of a price. The service parts and expertise will be available whether the company disappears or is sold. Craig Seekins at Avalanche Racing services the new forks, as does Steve De La Cruz at Garageworks in Oceanside. If you don't believe in the brand, read the 400+ posts on the Pinkbike thread.
