Tehachapi Mtb Trails

Anyone ride the Tehachapi trails? Would it be worth heading out there for the day and get some miles in. Trail map looks good, I imagine it would be multiple loops to rack up some miles though. Perhaps when the weather cools off.

From the videos I've watched, it looks fun but loose and super dusty in the dry season.

I've ridden there a few times and it's a pretty fun place. Each time there's been more trails than the time before. It's all singletrack and all trails are well marked. The lower stuff is mostly xc loops with some punchy climbs and just enough twists & turns & chunk to make it real fun. You can also climb way up the mountain to hit some fun descents. It's a beautiful climb up that makes great use of the terrain. Crazyhorse DH is pretty wild. They were building another trail of the top of the mountain that was more of a flow trial the last time we were up there. We rode it but it wasn't finished.

The TMTA Brewfondo is going on there next Saturday. It's too late to reg, but maybe still a reason to go ride the area.

I get emails from the Tehachapi parks & rec because I did one of their rides their only organized ride in '21 and they sent out a notice for this one just a week before registration closed.

I ride there every so often to beat the Bakersfield heat. It’s pretty fun and lots of climbing, but the downhills are fun and challenging.
