Well, with Mikie's persistence and Poofighter's (R.I.P.) persuasion or was it passion, probably both, I'm here to say "Hello!".

Here's my main steed that I normally ride out on the trails.

Here's my garage bin Sanford And Son build I'll take to the trails to mix things up! The fork's a 2008 Reba Race with a 9m axle. I don't think I can even get 100mm of travel out of it but coming from a rigid fork, this thing is PLUSH, LOL!!!!

Hopefully I'll get a chance to run into some of Y'all if I haven't already! I'm pretty friendly and usually start small talk.
Happy M.L.K. Day from the L.B.C.

And single speed... That means automatic membership approval. I say you can skip the membership dues for the first month. :p

#RMRSS
Ha hah hah hah!
I'm glad you let him go on dues since he has been unpaid since 2013!

@RIGID thanks for hopping out of the Lurker closet... and thanks for sharing about Noel. :(:)
Noel had just contacted me about 3 weeks ago looking to purchase some Tailwinds. I had not had the chance to put the store back together yet, but what a wonderful person to interact with!

I hope we get to meet out on the trail. Both your bikes are sweet. That Vassago is awesome...

Welcome to imtbtrails 8 years late!

I was kind of afraid to ask what "Rigid" was referring to...

Welcome (back)! I love the two stickers on your fork. I had to look closely at the Rock Shox parody. And the Push (industries) is not lost on me.

Thanks for jumping into the community here. The more the merrier, even if you are yet another insane person who likes torturing himself rather than having fun. :)

Welcome! Quite the minimalist build you have there! Tiny brakes, and one step away from a slick on the front :) Max and match rims... can't tell but is that really a 26 on the front and 29 on the rear? I don't know whether to be impressed or scared :)

Oh good lord - I did not look closely to see the extreme reverse-reverse mullet. 29 rear and 26 front? I cannot imagine riding that configuration. What's it like dropping over a serious ledge? Seems the front would drop quickly and the back would hang up forever. Oh well, we likes what we likes, I guess.

What length are those cranks?

It does look that way but I think it's the angle of the pic. Also, I have a 29x2.6 rear with a 29xs.4 front. I can't go wider on the front due to the tread hitting the top bridge of the fork. No complaints here. "Run what you Brung!

NO Way! The pictures can't be that distorted, can they? I won't believe that's a 29er on the front until you show us the size on the tire! What an optical illusion!

Front and rear are both 29er. I can go larger than 2.35-2.4 on the front. Rear is 2.6 DH tire.
Cranks are 175. I put a -2 degree works component headset to make it more "modern". Like one of the Netflix programs, "Keep only things that spark Joy", lol!

There are a few single speeders on here, and at least a few more who have recently become single speed curious...

Great job on the powder coat. Murdered out and all, I like!!!
Thanks for the auto membership with the first month free!!!;)
I'm noticing that there's more SS'ers here than eMpTyBeeR's. I'm gonna have to post up on the Singlespeeders forum over here.

If my derailleurs don't work, does that mean I can hang out with the cool kids? :)

I roll with a 1x12, but I think I could probably get by with a 1x3. Downhill pump. Uphill cruise. Uphill crank. Now that I live in NC, I honestly go entire rides without shifting. I still burn tons of cals, but the elevation just isn't there, so I ride faster.

Rigid, singlespeed. I like it. Used to roll that way but ended up with a fork. I think mine was a 2006 Reba Dual Air Race

Hi there Mr. Rigid fellow. Welcome to the madness that is imbtrails! I don't ride single speed nor do I ride fully rigid steel (gave away that one to a friend). But I am slow and not likely to get in your way. You are invited to climb the local hills with me out here in the other Valley.

Haha! I got three speeds on my SS too. Sit, Stand, Walk.
For the purists out there.
Would a Single Speed Derailleur be considered an oxymoron? Like where's the derailleur?

Wow, absolutely digging the welcoming vibe! I was thinking about doing the Strawberry/Colby Canyon/Redbox loop since it looked like things were warming up over there. Unfortunately, it was bad timing for me.
I'm no KOM and take it nice and mellow. I thought SS was Social Speed?
