So I’m published in MTB Action....

I know some people don’t like MTB Action ur I really like the glossy photos and variety of coverage. What I don’t like is space dedicated to e-bikes and noticed it has become worse when Zap came back as Editor. A few months back, a new editor cane on board and I took the time to shoot off a quick letter/email to him, hoping to head off future moped coverage.

Interestingly enough they edited my letter a bit as I wrote “nothing will cause me to ditch my subscription faster than continued ebike coverage” but they cut off my sentence at the word subscription!!

Nice edit :gag: I wonder how they would explain that one.
Thanks for taking the time to write and give them some feedback. I don't care for ebikes much and when they try to force feed them to us it doesn't help.

That would really piss me off. I already canceled mine.

Yep, I read that yesterday and I figured it was you. Good going. Ive been in that mag in that section too and a few pics also in the Trail Mix section.

I'm waiting for @Mikie to create an e-bike forum section as an April Fool's joke - and half the site will go ape-Sh!t :)

...and it's not e-bikes we hate, nor e-bike riders. It's e-bikes where they aren't allowed - and the companies (including magazines) who hope to capitalize on the e-bike craze by marketing them as something that they aren't. They AREN'T mountain bikes.

I am looking at an e-bike for my wife. I think it would be an awesome way to get her to go biking with me. If we do go out together, we will do so on legal e-bike trails... even if I am accompanying her on my mtb.

Yesterday as I was running I was buzzed by two e-bikes on Aliso Crest Trail. All you can do now is shake your head and carry on.

It's May now, so thank goodness I don't have to put my buddy's through THAT kind of April Fools joke. The only April Fools that were in April were those very capable but non complying "FOOLS" that rode pBikes.

Glad they published you, but changing the meaning of your sentence to the exact opposite is unacceptable. I can't stand the magazine due to overwashed photos and endless attempts to sell Sh!t. MBA is less about action and more about bikes, while Bike is way more about riding and less about product.

I would rip them a new one for flipping the intention of your sentence. It's one thing to edit for length without changing the meaning, but what they did was entirely self serving.

YOu haven't spent enough time with @Mikie .....he dislikes them about as much as I do.

Publishing usually refers to contributors, but anyway… That’s a sleazy editing move. I don’t know how anyone could continue giving money to a company that would blatantly twist a criticism into a compliment and put his name on it. That stinks to high heaven. F MTB Action.

That age group should really check out E bikes. I have only seen one on the trail. Dude passed me going up Space Mtn. It's ok everyone does. The only thing I noticed was fatter tires and the smell of ozone once he had gone. Of course I ride when most do not so I shy away from anything crowded. But I could see the benefit, I could climb and actually catch somebody if there was somebody out there to catch, sounds cool to me. It did not look like it would be fast on the drops so that would suck.
Happy empty single track trails
