Silver Moccasin ANF

I'm a happy boss of my Forest Service Sawyer crew.Mcg, Steve and Brad. On Saturday we hiked in with all the gear at 7am about a mile cleared 15 down trees in a 2 miles left at noon. Got up sunday morning at 5am back to work hiked up to the rest of the tree's about 15 more .. finished the job! .by 10am. This was for a special volunteer who passed away a few weeks ago. Hal was not only a dedicated and hard working volunteer of the Angeles National Forest, he also was the race director and trail work cordinator of the Angeles Crest 100 mile endurance race.and he himself of 85 yrs young had just finished his 35th Avalon 50 Mile run. Hal's moto was Never Give up " Get back up and try again. Hal was also a dear friend. This part of the Silver Moccasin trail between West Fork and Short cut Saddle was a mess and we promised him we would take care of the down trees before the race which is August 5th & 6th..
