SART-May 10

Checking to see if anyone is interested in a SART run this Saturday. Post office-South Fork route.
Interested? Let me know.... :D

Hillbillies would need to wake up early! :o

Hey Ross, really sounds like awesome and epic ride, but I won't be able to make it cause work is just not happening :( ,and I would want to hotel it.

Thats ok guys. I gotta move this to May 17th...or 18th, Tom. Lets see if we can get it together then. ;)

Right now it's an out and back, which I prefer. If it turns into a shuttle, then it would have to be proportionately longer...like to Loch Leven or further. :o

Maybe in for 17th. Will know more next week. Look forward to possibly riding with you guys again.

I'm in for this ride. I've ridden SART once, think it was HellRide 2010.

This ride is still on as of now. If we get the actual real Mikie Watson and his HIllbilly friends to show we might go with a little later start time. If not-who wants to see the sun come up? Ha Ha!!!
Details later during the week 8-) 8-)

Dang! I'd have to get up insanely early, but you tempt me with that sunrise talk. Regarding shuttle and longer route, if we start at Angeles Oaks is there options to add on from South fork? I think theres Jenks lake, grizzley trail or something like that. Just asking.

Looks like Mikie and Doug and ? And the Mysterians are gonna show so we should go with the later start. I suggest 9:30 or so from the lot just past Angelus Oaks.
The route we have planned should be enough for most everyone but there are always options if you need more. I think it 8s about 26 miles with 3000ft of climbing. Tasty singletrack for 90% of it.....

Sounds good. I'll be there at 9:30. May have 1 or 2 riders with me, trying to get someone to share the 2+ hrs drive.

There's no address. Immediately past Angelus Oaks, there is a parking lot on the left side. Cant miss it because it will have a bunch of mtbers standing around talking Sh!t about you! You can see it on Google maps where middle control road intersects the 38. All these SART newbies....so m7ch hazing to plan. Anybody know an in bred banjo player? Oh yeah, and a gimp. ..we need one of those too! This is going to be great!

You should park at the post office/restaurant instead. There have been break ins at the lot you're talking about. Better safe than sorry

I have heard of people being towed when parking near the post office.
A car is not a secure place to leave anything. Never leave valuables of any kind in your car. Carry it with you or dont even bring it. That is my sage advice. ...follow it along the road to enlightenment, grasshoppers. .... 8-)

Guys,
Not from anywhere near there. All I can assume right now is it is off the 210. Cross Streeet?

Mikie,
Here is a map of the parking area Rossage is talking about.
<a class="postlink" href="http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=34.15086,-116.97522&z=16&t=H&marker0=34.15086%2C-116.97522%2C5.7%20km%20WxSW%20of%20San%20Bernardino%20National%20Forest%20CA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=34.15086,-11 ... orest%20CA</a>
No easy way for you to get there. 210 all the way till it changes to the 10 east off at the first exit & go to the second light. That is Orange turn left and a couple of lights to Lugonia, turn right. That is 38, will take you all they way up. Don't go straight to Forest Falls after the loooong straight away.

Can't use Google maps and the F-35 can't evade radar.....damn MIkie....where's my 'scrip?

A little birdie told me conditions were excellent on SART. Then again, BB was sweet last weekend ;)
