what's up with the rude coasters on Monroe t.t. No trail etiquette .Hikers , climbers beware. got clipped today by some f. n. g to busy to slow down.

I keep getting fooled by thread titles, I thought this was going to be about Richie Rude coasting into 4th place in today's Enduro race in Australia.

Agreed though - no place for rude mtb-ers (other than Richie) - they mess it up for all of us!

Sounds like the same fellows that we ran into - I mean that RAN into us - on San Juan Saturday headed over to MTT on Sunday!
Skid Boom!

I have been hit multiple times ascending San Juan. That is with a bell and singing bad 70's rock as I climb.

As for GMR, I have run into this behavior for years on trails that can be shuttled. I love it when the shuttlers tell me I'm interrupting their "flow", and that I should yield to them as I am "just climbing". I think that downhill shuttling is not appropriate for multi use trails. People that have to shuttle like that should be courteous and yield to all trail users they encounter.

Yeah!!!!! I'm glad someone else said it first. MTT is getting bad when it comes to this kind of thing.

Problem is....a trail that is shuttlable allows newbie riders with no skills or knowledge to hop on a bike and go.

I got hit by a climber one time when I was DHing. Stupid goater got in my way so I plowed em over! She learned her lesson!

(This is sarcasm, I ALWAYS give the climber the right of way when I'm going down)

Hah! I must be the sukkah, cuz unless I'm in the middle of a climb that would be hard to restart, I give them the right away going up OR down the trail...

I totally agree with you Mikie! I know how much fun it is to be flying down the trail! So if I can get over and let em fly I will, as long as they aren't a douche and yelling "RIDER UP!!!" :P

I tend to give the right of way to the descender if they look like they aren't aiming straight for me... I know I have the right of way, but I usually don't mind helping somebody keep their groove.

Hard to do when you're climbing thorough the bushes...or the rider has a full-face and is rocking out on his/her headphones, or just don't care

Yeah... I'd have to say there are some exceptions. If they want to play chicken, I'm usually game. :-)

Guess what? If you want to play chicken....I usually win. I like slide off the back of my bike and let you deal with the consequences. Most of those downhill zombies have no finesse and any slight aberration will usually send them into the bushes or worse! My shoulder and head will help with the rest. Most riders will try to a avoid an impact with another rider and choose the bushes as an alternative.....ha ha! That Manzanita sure feels better than slowing down for a couple of seconds....
