Quarq Shock Wiz

I'm down for a communal purchase if we had a handful that wanted to try it out. Could live with whoever for the community. To be loaned out as needed.

Besides the obvious bike shops, demo fleets and bike park resort rental shops where they could justify the cost of half a dozen of these sensors.

This might not be a bad option if you have a household full of riders. I can see one being useful when my kids get a few years older and start riding much better and tunable suspension, as they can't quite quantify what adjustments need to be made to improve the ride.

I'm interested. I reached out to The Path to inquire about a 'rental program' yesterday and they let me know they'd just received two for "testing" and were entertaining the same thought. They asked for some feedback on pricing / duration of rental which I provided. I may pass along this thread to let them know there's demand?

Might as well gather feedback here as well:

What price and duration of rental would you find fair?

As a starting point, I suggested $40-50 for a week long rental of the device. If the demand was high I think they could even lower that price.

I also suggested the possibility of a higher tier program where their techs assess the data and make the adjustments.

I think a rental program is a great idea, and even moreso with someone who really understands it helping you interpret the data. Having data is great, but unless you really understand what you're looking at and how to apply it, it's just data.

I just saw a Facebook post from Tani with some screenshots from trying it out. In the comments he mentioned that The Path is planning on renting them out. I didn't see any other details yet.

It looks like two of them should be used simultaneously. On-the-fly adjustments of both front and rear would be more convenient with two, rather than getting data separately. Moving a single data collector from front to rear may require separate rides, -don't know. It looks pretty cool though

The latest Path Bike Shop Podcast has a really good discussion with Tani on his experiences using the shockwiz. Tani also mentions some of their thoughts so far on renting them out. I'm not sure when they might start doing this. I can't wait to try one!

The shockwiz discussion starts at the 31 minute mark of the podcast. Fair warning: they also discuss ebikes later in this podcast:speechless:
