Planned Weekend Rides June 27th, 28th, 29th?

SSFTA is having a two-day camp-out and riding weekend Saturday and Sunday. They are camping at the 2nd campground and the riding starts at 9AM each morning. Tracy and I are going Sunday (we think) to climb up and then ride back down. maybe shuttle once or twice as well.

The other alternative is to ride up McGill then back down then scoot over to GE for some $10,000 dessert! Tasty!

A two day camp-out where? McGill?

I suggest you don't ride Golden Eagle... not because of the $10k fine that you will never get, but because the trail is just not in good shape.
1. Lower climb is so dry and so sandy that it is a HAB in a lot of places.
2. The foliage is creeping in pretty bad on the lower and at the very top.
3. The foxtails are thick, and so will they also be in your socks and shoes (I threw my socks away).
4. The upper section is SO thick with low foxtail weeds that you can't see the trail, cuz it is grown completely over.
5. The upper shrub tunnels are real soft and so you feel like you are riding in snow or mud cuz your front and rear wheels are sliding all over the place.

can you tell me what time and where the meetup is?

If Hans is leading the ride it should be a bit more single track then what you did last week.

But I gotta work Friday :(

So I just talked with Tracy and she would like to do McGill. So looks like we will B heading up Mikie's way prolly Sunday... Saturday will prolly just ride local like Ave P-12 or something...

That's a fun ride John but not worth a long drive IMO. Have a great ride guys! I'll be in the Sky hating every min!
 
I may join you guys, but whats the ride pace, not feeling fast these days. The thrill of new dirt does get me motivated.

Ok, I'll meet you guys at Vasquez Rd and lost creek. First time out that way for me, in cause I get lost, here's my cell 805-807-7143. Give me a call and ask where the hell am I. Really I should be fine, look for a silver 4Runner.
 
SCOTTAY! . . . . . . TOTALLY, WORTH, THE DRIVE! THat was awesome. Felt great and had a great time! It was good to see Todd (aka Bluesrider) again. Let's ride more.... 8-)
 
Great ride today for sure, would do it again. Good to ride with Scottay and Mikie, think it's 2 yrs since i saw those guys. Anyway awesome trails out there, climbing wasn't to bad and the downs were sweet. Btw Mikie was killing it on the 3 or maybe 4 bitches.
