Most likely I am not headlining news here that you don't already know by now, but to share how close to home this hits for me...

As it stands, Finally Assembly will be at my location in Palmdale. I currently will be heavily involved in the hiring. If I did not misunderstand what I heard, this contract places Northrop Grumman from number 6 to number 2 defense contractor in the world....

...nice!

To be revealed...

Computer model of it, straight from the source, in case anyone's curious about what's underneath the covers.

I honestly don't know what it looks like yet. I've heard we have already built one. It's smaller and stealthier than the B2. I do know it looks a lot like the B2.

That looks an awful lot like the B-2. If t he computer glitches you crash.
Been flying for 20 years. Takes a bit more than a glitch...

Proud to now be a part of both the B2 Legacy and now the next generation Long Range Strike Bomber which we celebrated today with a boatload of high officials and Congress folks here in Palmdale.

Our latest Northrop Grumman Commercial:

Here is a pic of the actor they should have used. (Okay... maybe not.)

My father worked for a company back east that designed hydraulic systems for everything from the space shuttle to missiles, and the B-2. The B-2 was one of his most interesting projects... And one he was very proud of. If that's going the way of the dinosaur, I'll just have to be happy when I hear we dropped a Hellfire missile on some deserving soul. That was also one of Dad's favorites...

Glad to know you're a part of that, Mikie!

Douglas and then McDonnell-Douglas paid my extended family's bills for a long time.

The commercial showed concepts of new fighters to replace the F/A-18 and the F-22? F-22 not "superior" enough to win the skies? Also, why even have a pilot if they totally rely on the computers to fly the tail-less delta wing designs? Optional?

Been geeking out at NASA's green technologies. LENR (cold fusion) is probably the most exciting, but even their aerodynamic research has resulted in blended wing bodies and double bubble designs.

BTW, I got a shirt just like yours Mikie. It's my fav dress shirt. :D

Who said anything about pilots being "required"? :sneaky:

Great news! You all are doing good things at NG. A buddy works in El Segundo. Nice job pulling that work into the Golden a State. Keep sending the shite!!!!

You require a pilot (whether or not said pilot actually aboard the aircraft) to select the proper weapon for the situation. Or to decide that it's not warranted. A computer can't do that alone, and get it right. Too many variables that can't be programmed.

Russian propaganda channel seems to be optimistic with their latest gen stuff: http://sputniknews.com/military/20160124/1033644203/russia-next-generation-bomber.html

I dunno, the people scared of "killer robots" might push a pile of papers your way.
No killer robots... Just dead bad guys.

A Congressman renamed Palmdale (unofficially) as Bomber Town. I like it!

Those are X-47's on each side of the stage, an "X-47A" on your left and a "X-47B" on your right.... I'm somewhere in the middle.

This info has been released to the public so nothing I'm saying is classified:
Most of NGC's UAV's are programmable (meaning not required to have a real time pilot) There are situations that may require a pilot, most often as you stated when crucial decisions are required to be made. But our products measure all levels of threats from evasive maneuvers, potential threats, and mechanical malfunctions, to unfavorable weather conditions to complete a mission. They are even programmed to find an alternate (preferred) landing sight if one is required.

That's as far as I can go... :whistling:
