Since two busted spokes killed my 30-day riding spree, after stopping in at Bicycle John's today to get them fixed (on the spot, mind you!), I picked up a few things there and at Dick's Sporting Goods which is right up the street.

TLD A1 helmet! It fits like a glove. My head also lost mass and my old helmet was bouncing around all over the place.

Also picked this up for the new iPhone.

Now I can party while I party! 8-)

I have been rockin' the bass-boat sparkly yellow TLD A1 since last June. Great helmet, I'm betting you'll love it too.

Party on Garth!

The Iphone case looks very cool, and very vulnerable at the same time. If you ever wrecked, there possibley goes your phone. :o

It's as vulnerable as your Gamin GPS bar-mounted unit (510, 810, etc.), if you have one. The mounting system is very similar- tight, strong and secure. As far as phone protection, it should hold up well...based on my previous wrecks. :o

The phone mount looks good to me. I am using an old phone for my GPS tracks. If it gets damaged no worries.

Hah! Phones are for talking on. Garmins are for mountain biking! <--Unsolicited 2 cent opinion from a guy who thinks Droppers are Viagra (that now has one).

Good for you I.E. on the new schwag. How about going for a spin with us sometime soon?

I like to have my phone for music mayne! It keeps me company when riding alone.

You all are beast riders. I'm trying to get my skills up to par so I don't hold you all back when we ride. I should be good to go by Summer based on my regular riding nowadays. 8-)

I like the term "BEAST RIDERS". It would be a good name for a new group of super human people who fit. That's flattering that you think of us that way but, I think we are far from that term. Really we are just mountain bikers who love the sport.I know that the definition of mountain biking varries quite a bit now a days. Even though we ride high tech machines, I like to think of myself as an old school rider. Work, and yee shall recieve! Nice stuff BTW.

I dunno about being beast riders. The riders I've met here are pretty diverse and have their different strengths. If you invite everyone to your turf, you'd be front of the pack for the most part.

These huge climbs I see Mikie doing are pretty big challenges, but that's making him grow very fast. He's a weekend warrior that hangs with people that ride at least 2x more than him.

You should get out and get exposed. It'll shape you up in a hurry, plus social riding gives you far more memorable experiences. Just beware that these guys don't overemphasize how tough some things are... good to look up GPS data of their planned rides to compare to yours, in order to prepare. I don't know how I would've prepared for burkhart. Maybe dust off my hardtail, install more rock resistant tires and a 3x10 drivetrain and hope I woke that morning full of energy. Maybe if I had at least another week or two to rest from the last 3k feet or so of climbing... ;)

Varaxis,

I've ridden with most of the guys since back in '06. I took a break to hit the gym- weights, cardio, etc. and only recently again started riding with frequency and intensity. I'm good go to on the climbs...it's the DH where I have no chance but practice will help.

I'll join the crew this Summer...HB, Mikie and I have a trail up in Kern that beat us last year that we're anxious to revenge!

I just use a standard Polar CS100 bike computer and keep my Iphone in the Camelback. I like the Idea of using an old phone though.

Not only that! He did Burhart PB ride with a nasty freaking cold! Mikie could be a " BEAST RIDER".
