New Bike Day

CBone

iMTB Rockstah
Primer Expert build.
I posted a while back about trying to decide between the Primer and the carbon 275 Spider. No one had the Spider in stock so I couldn't try it out. Thanks for those on here that advised me to go with the Primer. In fact, everyone I asked had the same advice - go with the Primer. I was able to demo a Primer and loved it. I wasn't sure about my ability to climb with a 1x11 but the big ring in the back is low enough that I didn't have a problem.

Smooth
Climbs like a beast (even with me as the pilot)
Handles like a smaller wheeled bike (doesn't feel like a 29er to me)
XT brakes and drivetrain
Tons of traction climbing and descending.
Silent on the descents - no cables rattling, no chain slap, nothing but tires on dirt/rock.

Dislikes: Not really a dislike but with the 1x11 I have to pedal like a madman to hit 25mph

Enjoy brother it looks nice" I see you went w/ the XR4 in the rear, let me know how they do climbing. Those DT Swiss will take a beating I have the M1800'S and love them. Congrats on you new bike, now go out and ride it like you stole it.
I use the XR4 in the rear, and it climbs we'll. Plenty of traction when grinding up and predictable when negotiating a corner a little too hot. I can tell you it rolls better than the Nevegal, but I do not know how much it drags relative to other AM rubbers. The 26x2.35 XR4 is larger than any 26x2.5 Maxxis I've tried, and the extra volume is appreciated since I'm 220 lbs. I've used both the Expert and the Team Issue, and the Expert is a little thicker than the Team Issue but not that much heavier, only less supple. Both the Expert and Team Issue are sturdy enough for granite, schist, dolomite, even vesicular basalt. Mine is pretty worn after 600 miles and still handles well.

@CBone; I don't know you or your bike, and I'm sure both are rad. Pardon my suggestion if I come across as a Barney, but try slamming your stem to the head tube and place the the spacers above it.

Thanks.
The owner of the shop rode this bike a bit before I bought it. He sliced a sidewall on one of his first rides and replaced it with the XR4. It works.

If you have been thinking about an Intense give The Squeaky Wheel Bike Shop in Palmdale a call. He has some Intense bikes on clearance at great prices. He has a few Recluses and at least one Primer. He also has some 2016 Tracers left at great prices as well as the 2017s.
I'm not affiliated with the shop but I know Bob and his guys. Good people and they know their stuff. Give them a call and tell them where you heard about them.

Nice ride! .
.
+1 for SqeakyWheel. Did you ride P12 on the Primer?
What waterbottle cage is on it?.
.
Yes I did ride P-12, Scottay, and I will again many times:) I have a feeling this bike will be perfect on PanOrama etc. Just need to get back in shape. Bob added the Bontrage RL cage and I inherited it.

Beautiful bike! Stay stoked!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool::cool:

Looks rad. Colors would make me puke in the morning though.
