New Bike Day......

Well....it has been teased a bit here the last week or so.

But last night the new bike finally made it into the garage.

Reading comprehension amongst the users here is hit and miss.

Some of you caught on....some of you didn't.

So here it is...... Mrs. Mtnbikej's new ride:

2017 Tallboy 3 C S+ 27.5+

Swapped out the Fox 34 Performance that came with it for a PIKE RCT3
Also, since I had in the last month or so swapped her other Tallboy over to 1x11, I decided to keep all the X1 stuff and put the new GX stuff on her old bike. Was also able to reuse her X.0 cranks instead of the boat anchor RaceFace Affect's. Not a fan of SRAM brakes, so her trusty XT 785's went on.

She demo'd a Giant 27.5+ at the Floop 2 weeks ago....and fell in love with the wheel size, but wasn't overly blown away by the hardtail. So we decided that I could get more selling her TB2 then giving her Niner away.

Fits like a glove.

She is also now screwing up my 29er only garage.

Which led to this Poll, which suggested a new bike was coming to my garage:

Mr. All In One started this thread which most assumed it was me getting the new bike...but based on the first thread, laid the groundwork:

So Colonel Mustard did it in the Study with the Candlestick. :p

Forgive me - I did not commit to memory the subtle information in your Nov. 10 post...

So we went out this afternoon for the maiden voyage.

Late afternoon spin to the Oaks. The days are getting too short. Is it spring time yet?

The bike came with a 30t ring, but her X.o cranks that we used had a 32t ring on it. Not thinking....I figured the 32t would be ok. However the wheels are much heavier, so she was dealing with that a bit more. So I think a 30t ring is going to be in her future, but we'll give it a few rides to see.

The trails at the Oaks were still a little soft in some spots...and that just added to the resistance/slow feeling on the climbs.

She tore it up on the downs. First time with a dropper post. It's gonna take some getting used to, but she likes it.

She sits up on top of it more than her old TB, which she sat more inside of.

Long, low, slack and 2.8" tires makes the bike unbelievably stable, but it was still able to handle the flowy trails as well as the chunky stuff.

Happy customer.....

I know this started out as J's New Bike Day but why not make it permanent for all...

My Cannondale wore out and I was Jonesin for a new one. I was thinking gravel bike until I really thought about it. So I got this instead:

2017 Giant Defy Advanced 2. It'll take up to 32C tires which should take me on any rigid dirt riding I want to do. My Christmas present to me. Can't wait to ride it. And thanks to Mike at Fullerton Bikes...he gave me a good deal. Can't recommend them highly enough. :geek::geek::thumbsup::thumbsup:
