Ride Name: Need To Get Back Into Big Ride Saturdays
When: Saturday Jan. 14
Time: 7:30 am Roll Time
Where: Taco Plaza / RSM
Ride Description or Details:
Need to get back into the swing of things...that means Big Ride Saturdays.

With all the rain the last couple of weeks...my options are a little bit limited.

So I give you Harding - Bedford - Indian Truck Trail - Holy Jim.

Starting from the Taco Plaza, it will be a roadie through Live Oak, past Cook's then up Sanitago Canyon, over the Grade and up Modjeska Cyn. From there we will ascend Harding to 4 Corners then take Main Divide over to Bedford Motorway. Down Bedford to the 15 Fwy. At this point we do a quick 6 mile roadie traverse....some dirt, to Indian Truck Trail. Up ITT to Main Divide, then descend down Holy Jim. If we are feeling spunky...Staying on Main Divide over to WHT or Trabuco is also an option.

Yup it is a lot of fireroad...but it is a great training ride.

Weather is looking clear for Saturday with highs in the mid 60's.

Pace isn't a hammerfest, but it is a long ride.

Up to the top of Harding/4 Corners, you just turn around. Once you drop into Main Divide...you are committed.

Facilities: Water at a few locations along the way. Same with restrooms
Food/water suggestions: It's a long ride....pack what you need to get through it. With the available water along the way, I'll go with 3 bottles.

I was really debating about this... And would have probably done something smaller, anyway. Now, I'm grounded. The plumber is coming tomorrow morning, so I may not get on the bike at all until Sunday!

Bummer.....I'll let you know how it goes.
