My Incendiary Political Opinion.

Indians in 5. You heard it here first.

Signed - A bitter Dodgers Fan.
You don't like snow and live in Colorado. And you would prefer the Indians over the Cubs. o_O Have you ever been to Cleveland?

Ok, neither have I, but I've been to Chicago!

OK, all ribbing aside, you're probably right in your prediction. :(

My Grandma was a lifelong Indians fan... so there is that. I was at the doubleheader in the old Cleveland Stadium in 1976 on July 4th... fantastic bicentennial celebration. So Cleveland will always have that going for it.

When I livcd in Chicago, my wife and I lived less than a block from Wrigley Field. We are still part-owners of a bar there (very small part-owners).

GO CUBS!

Well, I don't think the Cubbies are gonna win the thing, but tonight's game was pretty exciting - in a "let's watch paint dry - but it really matters" kind of way. Awesome to hear the fans singing in unison after the game like a British soccer match. At least the Cubs made it past the "Indians in 5" prediction.

I'd love to see this thing go the distance.

Yay! The wet paint is going the distance!

I find myself frighteningly interested and intrigued by details like pitch count and stolen bases. What is happening to me? Will I suddenly like hardtail 29er singlespeeds and long climbs next?

Oh for the love of God I think I need to watch some hockey to come to my senses.

Go Cubs Go!

Boy- This thread has sure changed since the original post. I was planning on a night ride in the mountains tonight, but I'm not going to miss game 7! Hopefully, Cleveland doesn't bring their Little League team again tonight.

You never know... I've been disappointed so many times in the past. I used to live next to the park, went to the first night game (8/8/88), etc. I even worked at the LA Times when it was owned by Tribune, and got to go to a Cubs game and sit in the owners' box :) I just want them to win because I love Chicago. My dad, oh course, being from the South Side, is a Sox fan...

BonsaiNut family trivia (for the TRUE Midwestern sports fan)

My great uncle (my grandmother's brother) was Paul Parduhn. He was the owner of the Hammond Indiana "Pros" - one of the charter members of the American Professional Football Association (which became the NFL two years later). They played the first professional football game in Wrigley Field in 1918. George Halas played for the Pros in 1919, before leaving to coach the Decatur Staleys in 1920. The Decatur Staleys moved to Chicago in 1921... and became the Chicago Bears.
