MTB Kilaminjaro?

Charity is a good thing.

But... How could it be that this thing is legal and has never been done? Is it like being the first to "ride" Mount Whitney or Grand Teton, where having a bike along would make it a "ride," but no rider of sound mind would desire to do it?

And this odd band of guys breaking new ground on MTBs on this "unfathomable test of endurance"... Never mind the 85% success rate of the 35,000 trekkers who make summit bids yearly.

Anyone else's hype detector tingling? Call me cynical...

I'm pretty sure Hans Rey has done it; I mean bike Kilimanjaro. And had to HAB a bunch IIRC. If a trials rider like Hans can't ride up something - probably noone can. So, my BS meter is high on this.
And, James Lawrence aka Iron Cowboy did quite a bit of cheating on his 50 Ironman thing. Huge twitchhunt on it over at slowtwitch.com

Thanks for the sanity check.

A MMA fighter, tennis jock and some Dån H0wi†t wannabe raising cash for the needy. All good! :)
