Cryptic subject, yes... but it got your attention!

I found this cool bike for my son: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/4995383848.html About 10 years old, Taiwanese Tig welded Reynolds 853 frame, with newer/higher-end components. His size!

Only problem that you may have picked up on, is that it's in Seattle. Any suggestions to help facilitate this? Does it seem like a good price even after I've found a shop that will pack and ship it (what's that, $150 or so)? Anything I should be concerned with. I mean hopefully no cracks in welds, fork seals are all good, etc, but beyond that?

Finally, anyone with a bike-nut relative in Seattle that would love to get involved and check it out, maybe transport to a shop, stuff like that?

It seems like a good bike. I prefer steel to Al or crabon, so nice to find an 853 frame that's built up w/ good parts. I'm hearing that REI is a good place to go to for shipping. Relatively inexpensive, as they ship store to store. Going to pursue that and see how it plays out. Adding a couple hundred more to the cost makes it less of a good deal though...

I kept checking back... Hoping someone would offer up a Seattle connection! That looks like a very cool bike.
